Positive: Very close to the entrance of Sinharaja Forest. We liked the concept of having a little hut. Nice pool. Everything was really clean. The shower was mostly warm and body wash and shampoo were provided. Their Sri Lankan food is fresh and very good. The staff was nice.

Negative: The bedsheets were only the size of half a bedsheet and we ended up being cold at night as body parts were always uncovered. The wifi is quite slow and did not reach our room. The shower would profit from a little place to put own soap/shampoo. A bit more options to hang wet clothes would be a good add on. We got pretry soaked during our hike but didn't really have enough space for both our clothes. For our first day we were asked if we wanted western or Sri Lankan breakfast and we ordered the Sri Lankan breakfast as the western breakfast did not sound appealing. The breakfast was super good and a lot. However, on the second day they just brought us western breakfast without asking. The portion was small and very tasteless. We were looking forward to the amazing breakfast again but were very disappointed. When asked for any other options they were super nice and made us coconut roti. However without any curry or sambol everything was very dry.

Positive: Amazing location with trees, mountain and sky view. Right next to the chalet it was the sinharaja forest boarder where you can see and hear birds all the time. Felt like in the middle of rain forest. Comfortable, calm and comfy. Great hospitality from the staff as well. Very much worth for the price. Highly recommended.

Positive: Basic accommodation right next to the rainforest, with amazing view. Ok place for staying overnight. The sleeping cabins are a bit older, but adequate. Kind staff with base knowledge of english.

Negative: Very noisy and disturbing ceiling fan in the room. There are wooden cabins with very thin walls so you can hear everything.

Positive: I loved the place, the pool, the environment, the view. The food at the restaurant was good and not too expensive. Staff was very nice.

Negative: It's not about the hotel but more about the tours in Sinharaja itself. Not much opportunities to do autonomous walks around. Expensive tours to visit the jungle. The guide the hotel provided when I booked with them was nice, but he was barely speaking English, he was pointing at wildlife but we were not explained anything about the species, their biology etc a bird was a bird, a lizard was a lizard, no name identification ... It might be okay for some people but I found it very frustrating. At least they should provide for the day a book or flyer with pictures and names of what we could see if they don't speak English.

Positive: Amazing location in rainforest right next to park entrance. True nature vibes with sounds of the jungle all around you, the pool is a nice bonus. Decent enough food albeit quite basic, helpful staff, they can arrange guide for you into the forest and taxi etc. Note may need them to pick you up as access road is limited so taxis won’t always go down it, so save their number to ring when you’re getting close.

Negative: Breakfast was limited to fruit, toast and omelette which wasn’t to my taste. Good coffee though which made up for it (a lot of other rural places seem to just serve instant)

Summary: Amazing location in rainforest, perfect for a nature walk and dip in the pool afterwards to cool off
