Summary: I must first of all say the staff are lovely and the food was good pub food. Now for the room! I have never experienced staying in a room when the people next door flush the Loo, take a shower and turn on a tap creates a ridiculously loud noise in the room i was staying in. I had very little sleep. I travel every week for work and stay in similar places this at over £112.50 including breakfast was very expensive the room was incredibly basic, bed was not comfortable, no fan and it was warm. No room snacks or water, tea bags handed and in a tin. As i said all very basic. Oh and you need to be very small to use the bathroom smallest i have ever seen. To top off a sleepless night we then stood in the car park for just over 15 mins waiting for them to get up to have breakfast along with other guests. This then made us late for our meeting. To finish on a high the pub is in a lovely location and would be ideal for walking break.

Summary: Stayed here for a night recently. Rooms and decor are clean, tidy and comfortable and in keeping with the buildings age. The small team are all very welcoming , friendly and extremely hospitable , making you feel at ease and comfortable without being excessively ott. The evening menu was very well presented and of excellent quality. Breakfast was again very well organised with all the expected ingredients of continental and cooked elements with a variety of coffees , teas and juices . Beautiful location , very “darling buds of May”. The only thing you should be aware of is the restaurant and bar open after 6pm so if you arrive earlier in the day for a lunchtime meal or drink you’ll have to pop to one of the other local pubs.
