Positive: The breakfast was really good. Lots of choice and delicious. The staff were very nice and helpful. Always a smile. The golf courses were spectacular and with the sun shining we had a great time. X

Negative: The coffee was just awful and when we mentioned it the member of staff agreed telling us that many people had complained. Whilst our room was very clean it was tired with part of the ceiling falling down . When we ate in the restaurant I returned my starter because it was cold and then my main course was also cold but it was tasty and having returned my starter I didn't want to complain again. We did however enjoy meal.

Positive: Good Afternoon Faith, I was given your email address to pass on my comments, reflections, and experiences from our recent two night stay at Slaley Hall. Firstly let me say that the staff and facilities provided us with a welcoming and comfortable stay. Positives Staff: We found all the staff to be very courteous, friendly, and supportive. This included the new start employees at reception and bar / food. Food: Breakfast was brilliant with a great choice to suit all tastes and preferences. Staff were continuously refilling and restocking. The food in the restaurant was nice, albeit a what we felt was a limited menu, but thats to suit our tastes. Despite not having brocolli as a side on the menu, the staff were happy to provide a side of broccoli in place of carrots which were listed but not available. Bar food was nice, we had sandwiches and pizzas off the menu. There was a good selection of beverages to suit all tastes, but a bit disappointed the lack of whisky selection as you advertise a whisky snug. The whisky on display is for decoration only. Facilities: The pool area was lovely, the best we have stayed at over the last 2 years, and we particularly liked the specific timings for adult only and family time. This allows you to choose when you go. The juice bar is a nice touch. Water could of been 1/2° warmer but that's being picky. Treatments: I enjoyed a very good massage from Matilda, which sorted me right out. However the location of the room and the noise outside took some relaxation away but I'll cover thar later. Outside spaces: We don't play golf but what great facilities it appears to be from the groundstaff to the Claret jug area all were a plus point. We wished we had tried the driving range but our plans had to change due to the wedding. We walked the grounds, tried to follow the map but got lost lol, but we enjoyed the views and the peace and quiet.

Negative: Negatives: We appreciate that Slaley Hall is a multi purpose facility including golf, team building events such as conferences, and weddings. However, Room: We arrived just after 1500 to be told our room was not ready for us on arrival. We were offered use of the pool but wanted to unpack and get ready in our room before heading down. We were given a voucher for 2 hot beverages to make up for the delay. It was nearer 1630 before we got in our room, and no later checkout was offered which we feel would of been more suitable, as we effective lost 90mins of our day. Once in the room we found that the expected package room drinks and water were not in the room so I had to request from reception for them to be placed in the room later that evening. One final thing regards the room was the shower temperature control valve fell of the wall whilst my partner was in the shower narrowly missing her toes, its not a light piece of equipment. I reported this to the cleaner and reception staff on my departure. I think this was an existing defect as it appeared to have been temporarily fixed before. The risk is a person may step in to either scalding or freezing water which may cause injury, depending on the setting the valve is placed back on. Event: The large wedding that was taking place detracted from a "relaxing" few days for us and other guests. There was a large number of children running around the corridors outside our room, within the social spaces, and outside, so we felt there was no quiet space. I discussed with several members of staff about the wedding day timings for us to avoid the bar area and if we needed to book a table for food. It seemed despite being told they would have a dedicated area and timings they seemed to take over all the bar area and conservatory for extended periods outwith these timings. We had to leave these areas due to excessive noise, lack of tables, and unsupervised children.

Positive: Room was nice and the hotel facilities are good for the most part a few places to eat and drink and the pool is good. Nice to have the adventure element in the car park.

Negative: Breakfast is bad, they run out of everything, we were there over a 3 day period and it happened every morning, I ordered scrambled egg on one of the mornings unfortunately it was microwaved which you wouldn't expect in a 4 star hotel, staff are a bit all over the place, no organisation and it feels like they are trying to avoid people (only breakfast, Dinner and lunch is fine) The steam room looks like its doing a good job but its very weak and so many people complained about it when we were in the Sauna. Otherwise we love the hotel and will be back as we have been on a few occasions
