Located right off of US Highway 41 in beautiful small town Chassell, it's the perfect place for some outdoor R&R.
Parking is no issue here at the Sled Shed. The property is designed to easily accommodate three full size trucks with trailers. Unload your machines and move them into the heated lower garage area which is kept at 65 degrees with two large ceiling fans to move the warm air constantly so your machines can be melted off. Hang up your gear on our commercial grade garment racks and put your boots on the boot dryers - everything will be ready for the next days ride! Ready to book yet?

Summary: Very well done little barn. Nice little apartment upstairs with pretty much anything you'd need. My fiance, myself and our dog had enough space and it felt cozy. Were sad to leave it after a couple days stay. It has air conditioning for a summer stay, we just didn't need the downstairs area. Very nice place. Would stay again!

Summary: This was a cute little home away from home. With it being the summer here in the UP and in the 80's it was nice to have AC (a rarity in homes up here, I know this because my wife and I are former MTU students). The gas stove and garage were nice perks as well. I would highly recommend staying here during the summer and I am sure the heated garage is nice in the winter as well since that means you don't have to clean off your car whenever you go out! My wife enjoyed the nice farmhouse chic decor as well. Would love to stay here again!

Summary: We visited the Houghton area for a short stay in June and the Sled Shed was perfect for us. It’s located right on 41, so travel to area attractions was easy. The Sled Shed is cozy and nicely decorated, with anything you might need for your stay. The owners are right next door so are able to answer questions or help out right away. We brought our dog along so we enjoyed access to the trail behind the house as well. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to others as well!

Summary: Newly renovated and modern 1 bedroom. Rental is 2nd floor so there are stairs to get to the living space. Garage for use on ground floor was great for staging our rides and not tracking in snow to the living quarters. There is audio/video surveillance in garage and it is clearly posted. We had a full size truck and 3 place trailer that fit in the drive. Beautiful, clean and organized property with everything you need (pots/pans, dishes, utensils, linens). There is also a washer/dryer for use in the garage, though we did not need to use it. Owners also provided thoughtful touches such as doggie treats for our furbaby, some toiletries and snacks. They had books and board games. Rental tastefully decorated which can be hard to find in MI rentals. We were there to snowmobile and this property is set up wonderfully to do that. Our timing was unfortunate in that there was more ice than fresh snow and some trails were closed due to bridges being out so we did have to trailer to ride. In a normal winter you could easily ride from here to the trail system. The location is right off of busy highway which for us was a bit of a drawback due to traffic noise but that was the only negative and no fault of the owners. We walked our dog on the DNR trail behind the rental which follows along the lake shore which worked out well. Owners were very helpful with reservations, check in/out process. No issues with communication or insane chore lists for renters. Definitely recommend!

Summary: Everything was clean and had all the comforts of home. Perfect place during the winter season for snowmobling. There is a trail right out the back door and the garage is heated it was great for drying our gear and sleds. It's about 15 minutes from Houghton. We enjoyed our stay, thank you to our host!
