Summary: The checkin process is the worst ever. Checkin is @ 3pm, rooms aren’t ready until after 5pm. This is unacceptable after traveling from the US from 3am. The staff @ dining is unfriendly & most of them hardly speak English. Simone & Sharon were kind & friendly at breakfast and lunch. It’s a beautiful property on Maho beach, lack any good entertainment & overall just boring and lackluster. Bar across the street opens til 3am if you’re looking for some vitality.

Summary: Sonesta is in such a great location. Plane watching is unreal. Room was good, food was pretty good, drinks were good. A couple of the bartenders could smile a bit more. Usually from my experience at many other resorts they are some of the friendliest people on staff. Wasn’t the case here. Our room wasn’t ready until 6pm on arrival but we were given a $150 resort credit to compensate so that was solid of them. Overall I would recommend the hotel. If I had a suggestion for the resort it would be to replace at least 1 of the double beds in the rooms with a queen. Would make the stay so much more comfortable for couples travelling with kids.

Summary: It seems like the beach next to the airport is an awesome experience but it smells like fuel all the time. Staff was not nice at all, the lady in the coffee shop was always giving people an attitude while making coffee. Waitresses and towel people were also not too friendly and not too nice, everyone looked miserable and with no smile. The hotel is not small, but they have maybe 30 chairs om the beach, which is not enough at all. Also in the pool area, there is not enough chairs so it doesn’t matter what time you go to the pool, there is no place to put your stuff except on the ground. We said good morning to all the taxi drivers, staff, security, towel guy- no answer. Maybe 5 out of 100 people working there were nice. Im very surprised because I’ce never had such a bad experience in the Caribbean.

Summary: We came in at 3:45pm and the room was not ready, they asked us to return at 4:00pm. Whe returned at 4:00pm the room was still not ready. After a 10 hrs fly we were hyngry, tired, wanted to chnage clothes and the room was not ready for another 45 minutes after 4:00pm!! Customer service is terrible. Peple are rude and careless about customers. I do not want to return to this hotel.
