The apartment "Schloss Sonnenstein 2" inspires with its prime location, its unique flair and a breathtaking view. The house, built in 1678, belongs to the ensemble of the Sonnenstein Castle, which was completely renovated between 2010 and 2012. Below is Germany's probably oldest beer garden, the "Schloßschänke". The apartment captivates with a fantastic view over the entire old town of Pirnas to the state capital of Dresden, you almost live on Pirna's balcony.
The apartment was completely renovated in 2015 and modernly and comfortably furnished. The holiday home has 2 bedrooms with comfortable box spring beds, from which you have a wonderful view over the old town. One of the bedrooms has an additional flat screen TV so that you can watch TV from your bed.
In addition, the apartment has a spacious living room and a bathroom with shower, double sink and toilet. In addition to a comfortable corner couch, the living room also offers an HD flat screen TV, a stereo system and a DVD player. The fully equipped kitchen includes a 4-zone ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge with frost, microwave and high-quality coffee machine, toaster and kettle. There is also space for up to five people at the cozy dining table.
Access to the apartment is either via the castle courtyard from the Sonnenstein castle or through the castle stairs, past the lavishly renovated terrace gardens on the castle slope, through which you can quickly get to the restaurant district of the old town near the historic market square.

Summary: Marcus was a wonderful host he picked us up at the train station as well as giving us a quick tour of the town on the way to the apartment. There were three supermarkets within walking distance to the apartment and the beer garden was just below the apartment, you could see it from the window. The view from the apartment and the beer garden was fantastic. There are many restaurants in town, which are also in walking distance. There are many stairs down to the town and this was easy for us, but if your have a problem with stairs or complaining children it could be a problem. The town of Pirna is very pretty and is the gateway to Saxony Switzerland, this is a must visit with beautiful views, walks and the cutest village you have ever seen. Pirna is also only 21mins on the train to Dresden or 2 1/2 hours to Prague, so if you prefer to stay in a small town and do day trips to the cities this is the place for you. I would recommend 1 week in Pirna with day trips and leave a couple of days to just enjoy this lovely small town. I forgot to mention the apartment. You had everything you needed and everything worked including the internet. The towels were soft and the bed was comfortable. You had everything you needed in the kitchen if you wanted to cook. I would recommend this apartment and the town of Pirna happily. Thank you Marcus for renting your apartment to us, we really enjoyed our stay.

Summary: What a great place to stay. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated, breath-taking views from the windows, quiet. Perfect. Just be prepared to walk a lot of steps coming and going to all the wonderful sights in the area. Markus was very nice to work with. He responded promptly to email when I was making arrangements and was a welcoming and helpful host. WE would definitely stay here again when we return to Germany.

Summary: Excellent location with wonderful views over Pirna. The apartment was spacious and very well maintained. Would recommend to anyone visiting the region. A very good base to travel to many different places. Only 20 minutes on train to Dresden.

Summary: We've stayed at this apartment for 8 days and the whole our stay was an unforgettable experience. We loved every second we spent there and didn't want to leave.))) The apartment has everything you could possibly need for comfortable and enjoyable stay. From the moment you walk in you feel yourself like home. The apartment is cosy and spacious, spotless clean, with huge and sunny living room, fully equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds. The view opening from the windows is simply fantastic. We truly felt ourselves like home. The location of apartment is just perfect, quiet, safe, it takes you only 5 mins to get to the market place. The owners are wonderful hosts, caring and friendly. We could not thank them enough for allowing us to check-in so latish and giving us lots of useful information about the area, transport, shopping options and city highlights. We loved your apartment so much we did't want to leave! Best wishes to your lovely family!

Summary: Wow ....we were so lucky to find tis beautiful apartment with STUNNING VIEWS...the beds were so comfortable that I made sure I bought the same bedding to bring back to the US....wonderful host attended to our every need.....he went above and beyond. Great little town with lots to offer...beer garden has great service and good food....ahhhh I wish I were back there right now....thank you Herr Galle we will see you again......
