SOUTHDOWN STABLE - WINNER 2005 & 2014 - EXCELLENCE IN ACCOMMODATION
Is one of 4 cottages, accommodation 4-6 people (- 2 couple in 2 queen beds- extra 2 single beds $50 each) -is a converted 1857 stable that has been lovingly converted into a very cosy and unique self contained accommodation experience. A romantic and peaceful getaway set among camellia hedged rose gardens.
You have the use of the 6 acre manicured historic garden to enjoy during your stay.
The Stable is fully equipped with 2 x queen bedrooms one with additional single bed , There is also a king single bed divan in the lounge open plan area. it has 2 x separate bathrooms with showers - one with hip bath , a lounge/dining/kitchen area which is fully equipped, the cottage includes central heating & a wood fire (if you require a wood basket is is $35 extra April-August only)for the Highlands winter ambiance and ceiling fans.
The Stable is uniquely furnished in a rustic antique feel which is complementary to this old 1857 Stable.
A perfect romantic, family or friends getaway.
An initial complementary 2 day full basket breakfast is provided.
Cancellation Policy - 50% of the total will be charged if cancelled up to 30 days prior to arrival and Total Cost will be charged if cancelled within 30 days of arrival date.

Summary: Impossible to find fault with anything for this property. Exceptional contact, communication, set up. On arrival heating on, music playing and goodies in the larder. Very hard to leave and explore Bowral as the stable is so inviting. Loved exploring the antique bits and bobs scattered throughout the rooms and the walls of history mounted as pictures and paintings. We loved every minute and will be back at the next opportunity.

Summary: Cosy, well maintained property in close proximity to the wineries and other Hinterland activities. Super easy check in-check out process and a very accommodating host. Loved the fireplace.

Summary: We had a lovely few days in Margaret's property and she was a wonderful host. It's a good location, just a few minutes drive into Bowral, though it's nice and secluded.

Summary: This is our second time staying at Southdown but our first time with our young daughter. She loved all the 'olden day' treasures around the house and we had lots of fun exploring the gardens (even saw a possum in broad daylight!). It was a cold weekend but we were extremely comfortable and cosy by the fire. Thanks once again for a lovely stay!

Summary: Loved staying here for 3 nights. The owners little touches of fresh flowers, heating on and soft music made the magic of the property even greater. Fantastic shower and bath with piping hot water each and every time. Well equipped kitchen and I’ve a soft spot for gas. Great stay

Summary: We had a lovely time staying in The Stables. Southdown is an impressive estate with absolutely beautiful gardens. I enjoyed a couple of ducks waddling and quacking around in the background. It is so close to Bowral which made it easy to jump in the car and head out to grab lunch, dinner or groceries. We had some grey, rainy weather which made it much cooler than I thought for summer. I actually used the electric blanket on the first night! Overall, The Stables is as described and was a lovely, unique experience.

Summary: The Stable is a unique experience,the decor is like stepping back in time very cosy with very comfortable beds,set in a large peaceful garden. The location is central for discovering the Southern Highlands. I travelled with three other single ladies we all had our own beds,two beds in one room ,one bed in lounge area and one double bedroom,continental breakfast supplied.
