Summary: My family and I recently took a long-awaited vacation in Italy, during which we stayed in Rome, Cossignano, and Venice. There were 8 of us traveling together, 6 adults and 2 teenagers. We stayed in flats at each location, and our stay at Palazzo Massi Fassitelli was the best by far. When we arrived and met Adriana (we were about 4 hours late after a long series of unfortunate events), our mouths fell open at how beautiful it was! (Side note: we actually rented two flats; the main one upstairs, which has 3 bedrooms, and a smaller downstairs apartment with two bedrooms. Both were lovely, but it's the upstairs one that is listed, so I'll keep my review to it.) The dining room has a beautiful table big enough for our whole group to enjoy our meals together, and the ceiling has an incredible fresco that we couldn't take our eyes off... until we went into the master bedroom, which also had a beautifully frescoed ceiling! All three bedrooms were roomy and comfortable with clean sheets and bedding and plenty of extras to spare. There were two bathrooms, one attached to the master bedroom and one serving the other two bedrooms. They were also clean and tidy. The kitchen was the best-equipped that we found by a far! Every single utensil we needed (we mostly cooked our own meals, so we used the kitchen a lot) was there. We also found plenty of dishes, silverware, and glasses (which is no small feat considering that there were 8 of us). The dishwasher worked very well, as did the washing machine. Everything about our stay here was perfect. Before we arrived, we communicated extensively with Alessandra, who was really helpful and spoke excellent English. She helped us figure out how to get here from Rome and gave us a discount code to use when we rented our car in San Benedetto d. Tronto. The whole reason we visited Cossignano was to visit the Fiorano Agriturismo, as I have been enjoying their organic olive oils at home for a while and wanted to see the grove. (Incidentally, I actually found the Palazzo through the Agriturismo, since they are both owned by the same family.) I highly recommend a visit to the farm for a wine and olive oil tasting. The entire farm is organic and produces the best wine and olive oil that we had in all of Italy, Paola and Paolo (husband and wife team) speak excellent English and gave us a fantastic tour of their farm and winery. We will definitely come back to visit both places again!

Summary: Palazzo Massi is a great house right in the center of a gorgeous medieval hilltop town in La Marche. The house is right above a popular square and a bar/osteria that serves delicious food. In the late evenings, the neighborhood children play games in the square while the adults chat. The location at the top of the hill, together with good fans, vaulted ceilings, and large windows, helps encourage cooling breezes. The house is spacious, with lots of room for our family. The kitchen and laundry facilities are convenient for families, and the WiFi works great. Cossignano is a good location, within an easy drive of the beach, good hikes in the Sibillini Mountains, and exploring in Offida and Ascoli Piceno. It's also a beautiful town to explore, with great views of the surrounding farm fields and very welcoming neighbors. There are a few small grocery stores, cafes and restaurants in the town. We had a yummy dinner at the osteria in the square, and a small bakery near the square can provide your morning cornetto. For your visit to La Marche, it will be helpful to learn some Italian. Everyone has been accommodating of my rudimentary use of Italian phrases combined with hand gestures etc. (I studied sporadically using a computer program over the past couple of months), but when we return to Cossignano we will spend more time learning Italian before the trip to help make more connections with the many generous and friendly residents here.

Summary: We lived as king and queen with four princes in a real Palazzo for a week! This is a marvelous house in the centre of an old village. You really are amongst the most friendly and helpfull people and feel the Italian lifestyle. The owners are very cooperative and send us a lot of information on forhand. The sea is only 15 minutes by car and the mountains half an hour (and beautiful). There is so much to see and do that 1 week is not enough!

Summary: We stayed at the Palazzo Massi during the first two weeks of July. After a warm welcome we soon became part of village life. The Palazzo is wonderfully situated, has ample room and is very well equiped. It is the perfect way to be amongst the Italians in their own habitat. The surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous and the beach in Grottamare is very child-friendly. For us this is Italy at its best!

Summary: This is a lovely apartment in a delightful small, hilltop town. We enjoyed our stay and were quite comfortable. The village is charming and close to other hill towns to visit. It is helpful to speak at least some Italian, but help is just a phone call away, if needed. The bar next door has internet service and serves good food also. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We would recommend this apartment for those visiting the area.
