My renovated one-bedroom English basement apartment is located 2 blocks from H St NE. H Street is a vibrant area with plenty of restaurants, bars, and the free streetcar line to Union Station. Popular Union Market and La Cosecha are a short walk away with additional restaurants, bars, and shops in the area. There are also 7! grocery stores with 1 mile of my apartment in case you decide to stay in and cook or just need to grab a few items.
My apartment has completely separate front and rear entrances from the upstairs unit so you won’t be sharing any spaces.
The other great thing about my apartment is that it is truly a full basement with nearly 8 foot high ceilings and FULL windows/doors so you won’t feel like you’re in a basement like with many other basement apartments.
I have no-contact keyless entry and this also allows you to not have to worry about losing any keys during your stay.
My apartment is equipped with standard kitchen and bathroom amenities and linens (towels, wash clothes, sheets, blankets, etc.).
Getting around DC is also really easy from my apartment and there are many forms of transportation available close by. Walking to the Capitol building is about 1 mile if you’re up for a nice stroll down Maryland Ave. There is a free streetcar on H St that will take you to the backside of Union Station. There is a city bus stop on the corner of my street. You could also venture around town on electric scooters or electric or manual pedal bikes that you can get in the neighborhood or rent from Capital bike-share 1 block away. Lyft, Uber, or taxi are also easily available via downloaded apps. My apartment is located within an easy 10-12 minute walk to the red line NoMa metro station.
Finally, if you will have a car, there is free, easy to come by street parking right out front.
Note: my apartment is in vibrant DC. You will see people from all walks of life, all nationalities, all ethnicities. I have lived in my neighborhood for over 10 years and I love the diversity. If diversity scares or bothers you in any way, then my apartment is not the place for your stay.

Summary: My family of four really enjoyed our stay here! The place was very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The location was great--an easy walk away from the free H Street streetcar, which is a quick ride to Union Station. The location is also close enough to walk to the Capitol and musuems, as we did with our kids a few times during our stay. Street parking was close by, easy, and free! The kitchen and bathroom were well-stocked, and we appreciated having a washer/dryer during our stay. I would definitely stay here again!

Summary: We loved staying here! The listing is 100% accurate and the apartment is very clean and beautiful, just like the photos! The host was very responsive to VRBO messages, contactless check in/out and keyless entry to the apartment was super convenient. The entire experience felt very private. The bed was comfortable and it was very quiet at night. All the appliances that we used worked great, and the shower was wonderful with immediate hot water. The washer/dryer was perfect for us as we were able to pack light and wash our clothes before traveling on to NYC. Lots of great food options fairly close and Uber Eats was super easy for delivery. No issues getting a Lyft to/from the apartment and Union Station or to the National Mall on our first morning. The rest of the time we rented Lime scooters which was fun and felt safe riding through the neighborhoods to/from the National Mall. We found two different Whole Foods and a Trader Joe's that were great stops on the way home from the museums. If you rent scooters make sure to bring a back pack for groceries. Being from Seattle we found the 19th century row houses throughout the neighborhoods to be very charming. We will definitely try to rent this place again next time we travel to DC!
