Spend your day at the “Blue Flag” beach, by one of three pools or take an excursion to one of the many adventures available. We do our best to make it easy for all our guests.
Los Almendros is an upscale, beachfront development on Playa Ocotal's northern shore. This modern gated community has 43 privately owned condominiums and 24 hour security. It is the only development right on Ocotal beach. The development has 3 swimming pools, 2 outdoor barbecues and a covered gazebo. Condo 42 is the end unit on Los Almendros' premium front row. The condo's rear patio is located directly above a small tropical forest. The patio has a beautiful ocean view. It also provides nature lovers an excellent vantage point to observe many colourful birds, howler monkeys, and other amazing wildlife living in the trees below. It is a short 2 minute walk down the hill from the condo to Ocotal Beach.
Our condo is rated as one of Los Almendros' superior rental units. This condo is Los Almendros' most popular and best equipped two bedroom unit. We offer many extras to our guests that enable them to have a more memorable and relaxing vacation:

Our condo is the only 2 bedroom rental unit with a screened rear patio. In the evening guests can relax and listen to the ocean surf without being bothered by insects attracted by the overhead light. The ability to use the patio day or night greatly increases the condo's living space.
Outstanding swimming and snorkeling: Playa Ocotal is one of Guanacaste's quietest and cleanest "Blue Flag Beaches". The ocean surf is very gentle. Travel guides recommend Playa Ocotal to outdoor enthusiasts who want to snorkel from a Guanacaste beach. Snorkelers drive many miles to explore the rock formations at both ends of Playa Ocotal Beach. Playa Ocotal's best snorkeling is directly below Los Almendros. On most days, you can see numerous species of colorful tropical fish including angel fish, game fish, eels, octopi, puffer fish, rays and many more, in Playa Ocotal's tranquil waters.
Playas del Coco is Guanacaste's fastest growing beach community. The town is a 5 minute drive from Los Almendros. A taxi is fairly inexpensive to town. Coco has modern grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, ATM machines, many restaurants, ice cream shops, many bars/pubs, souvenir shops, and an emergency medical facility. You’ll even find small grocery stores and family restaurants on the way to Coco from condo.
Excursion planning: Playa Ocotal is a great location from which to initiate day trips. I can provide you with trusted tour operators so you can make reservations for fishing, diving, snorkeling, sailing, rafting, tubing, zip lining, massages, hiking, bird watching, hot springs, rain forest tours, volcanoes, canopy tours, and horse back riding. There is multiple dive companies located in Coco for any scuba enthusiasts.
Father Rooster's restaurant is one of Ocotal's most popular restaurants and it is located about 100 meters from the entrance of Los Almendros. It is located right on the beach and is open for lunch and dinner. It is a great place to enjoy a delicious tropical drink, enjoy a meal and take in the fabulous sunset.
Transportation: A car is nice to have but not a necessity in Costa Rica. Taxis from Los Almendros to Coco are fairly inexpensive Bilingual tour operators provide affordable transportation from Los Almendros to Guanacaste tourist attractions. Taxi service is available to and from Liberia airport. Golf carts are another great travel option.
Bicycles: We provide our guests with two cruisers. Both bicycles have a basket and a comfortable saddle seat.

Summary: Everything was perfect! A lot of activities and gear, perfect beach, wonderful snorkeling, magnificient view, very welcoming and cheerful appartement with all the Costa Rican decorations and animal paintings on the walls ! We really enjoyed our stay and would like to have stayed longer! The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed , even basic spices and oil for cooking and plastic containers for leftovers! A real kitchen with a lot of counter space was greatly appreciated :) We felt very safe and well supported throughout our stay. The owner was very fast at answering our questions Thank you again so much for your apartment and sharing this wonderful place!

The sand, the waves, the sunsets… everything felt like a dream.The condo had EVERYTHING we needed. It didn’t lack a single thing – fully equipped, clean, comfortable, and clearly cared for with love. It truly felt like a home away from home.Anytime we had a question or needed something (even something small), the host responded immediately. The level of hospitality was truly top-notch – you can tell they genuinely care about making your stay perfect.Our kids loved every second of it – from the beach to the pool to exploring the area. It’s rare to find a place that makes the entire family this happy, but Los Almendros did exactly that.We’re already talking about our next trip back – we will absolutely be returning. Summary: Absolutely perfect — better than 5 stars!We had an amazing stay at this condo. The location was unbeatable — just a short walk to a beautiful beach with fantastic snorkeling right off the shore. The swimming was great, and our family especially loved the rock jumping! There’s even a restaurant right on the beach, making it feel like a true paradise.The condo itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was perfect for our family of four. We really appreciated the extras, like snorkeling gear and kayaks, which made it easy to enjoy the water every day.Mark was an outstanding host — incredibly communicative and helpful from start to finish. He answered every question promptly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay.If we could give more than 5 stars, we would!

Summary: Great location and would recommend a golf cart over a car. Unit itself is perfect for 4, and has all you need for a stay. Beach is a bit rocky in the middle but both ends have quality sand and plenty of room to swim around and play. Security is always present, and there are some pools on the property that are ideal if one needs a beach break.I"d argue this was probably the best host we"be worked with. Communication is prompt and he does al in his power so the experience is perfect.The nearby restaurant is very good, and the 10 min gold cart tide to Coco was fun for the kids too. Convenient groceries and shoppes all in Coco, so one can get all the need rather quickly.And if you love seafood -- there is a fish market only about a 4 min golf cart ride away and the selection is top notch.

Summary: We had the best stay here, Mark was always very quick to respond and gave tons of pointers and suggestions. Quick drive to town, Brian with Island Golf Carts was amazing as well. He gave us lots of pointers and info as well. Memo was spectacular and easy to communicate with. He handled all of our tours and getting us to and from. Very clean and nice place and had everything you could possibly need!! Will definitely want to return!

Summary: Everything about our stay was phenomenal. The staff were friendly and helpful, the condo was clean, spacious and had amazing views, and the beach was incredible. This was an amazing beach location for our family. Our communication with Mark was great. He provided all the information we needed and more. He helped us connect with a driver as we opted not to drive while in Costa Rica. Any questions we had were responded to promptly. I highly recommend!

Summary: Our first trip to Costa Rica and we found the best place to stay. The condo is in a great location with a lot of security! We felt 100% safe! It is big with two bedroom, two baths. The kitchen is well equipped so you can cook some of your own meals. It’s nicely decorated and very clean. My husband and I agreed that this was the nicest Vrbo we have ever stayed in. So many restaurants that are close, one a walk away ( Fathers Rooster) Great fish and chips. Mark and his wife have thought of everything with so many amenities and were so helpful with a lot of information! Anything you can think of for the beach, they have it! All of his recommendations were spot on! He also hooked us up with some reputable tour guides. We rented a golf cart from Brian for the week, it was a perfect way to get around and he’s the nicest guy! We hired Memo for rides back and forth to the airport and two tours. His son, Fernando was terrific! We couldn’t have asked for more knowledgeable, honest, kind people. They stopped at the grocery store for us on our way to the condo from the airport which was so sweet. They stopped to let us shop for some souvenirs on our way back to the airport. I cannot say enough good things about the condo or the tour guides. We went to La Leona waterfall and the sloth sanctuary. Both were amazing! A lot of wild life to be seen from the condo with a great view yet very peaceful! Thanks to Mark for being so communicative and helpful. We loved our trip!
