Summary: Interesting layout with little sitting areas both inside and out. Followed through with online request that our 2 rooms be close. Kids liked the pool. Breakfast ok.

Summary: Spring House Inn is in a great quiet location and the hotel maintains a clean atmosphere. I have stayed here 4 times in the last 4 years and this last stay was a disappointment. The hotel I believe has new management or owners. The employees at the front desk are not friendly, and do not smile or interact at all. I remember a couple years ago, how kind and friendly the front office staff were. The breakfast has downgraded massively. I used to be able to request a later check out, that was not allowed this time. I can tell they are trying to cut costs, but the costs they are cutting are disappointing and decrease the enjoyment of our stay. But most of all, the lack of friendliness by the staff was the biggest disappointment.

Summary: I’m not sure what some of the fuss is about. Yes- this place is an older Inn; but it’s beautiful! We saw ONE spider which is to be expected in an old building that’s surrounded by scenic woods. It truly has so much history and charm, large rooms too. The staff was exceptionally kind and accommodated an early check-in for us. The pool was nice, clean, and didn’t reek of chlorine. If you want lame modernization, go to the Marriott and stay there. We loved this place and will absolutely be back.

Summary: This hotel has great charm and features that I had not seen in a hotel before. We made use of the sauna located at the pool area and the common space/living room type areas that are located on every floor. Very cozy, with a vibe like no other place we stayed on our 10 day road trip. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the balcony and scenery. We even saw a rabbit and a beaver from our balcony. My kids loved the outdoor seating areas and swings.

Summary: Here’s a little bit about our hotel stay. We stayed for one night and the hotel staff was OK. The rooms were clean and the bed was very firm and comfortable. The rooms have blackout curtains, which is really nice and the rooms have balconies to sit on and there’s nature to look at lots of squirrels. Breakfast not very good. Decor outdated. Overall experience six out of 10. The place is OK. If you want to go to the dunes or the forest preserve, it’s within a short distance. The price is OK too. We got our room for around $200.

Summary: Such a cozy lovely spot to spend the night. We felt welcomed at check in. The place is a bit dated but that really gives it the charm. Room was clean and comfortable. We used the warm pool and sauna, both were clean and comfortable.

Summary: Modest hotel that is in need of some updates. We were originally given a room on the first floor that absolutely reeked of mildew. To their credit, they switched rooms for us quickly. It is concerning that that room was an option at all. Breakfast was a very basic. Pre packaged oatmeal, cereals, bagels, and waffles. There were eggs and sausage on the hot bar. There was a fridge with yogurt and milk. The coffee was weak. I didn't see any test at all. The bed was comfortable, and that t really is what an overnight at a hotel is mostly for, right?
