Converted from former farm buildings, these cosy holiday cottages (ref 28343, ref 28344 and ref 29155) are situated within the North York Moors National Park and opposite Harwood Dale Forest. Adjoining the owners’ home and surrounded by countryside with grazing cattle and roaming hens, they lie just 2 miles from the coast, and make ideal bases for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers and for exploring the numerous local attractions. The quaint fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay, with its hidden cobbled streets and smuggling history, is just a 5-mile drive and the historic port of Whitby, 11 miles, is renowned for its ancient abbey and connections with Captain James Cook and Count Dracula, not forgetting its famous fish and chips! The traditional seaside resort of Scarborough, 10 miles, offers miles of sandy beaches, fishing and speedboat trips, the Rotunda Museum, Stephen Joseph Theatre and musical concerts at The Spa and in Peasholme Park. Pony trekking and golf available close by and cycle hire in Dalby Forest. Beach 2 miles. Shop 3½ miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Summary: Cottage is very well equipped. Downstairs is compact but has everything you need. Bedroom upstairs is fantastic and bed is very comfy. Summary: Well designed little cottage, making the most of limited space. Fairly well equipped, but a big disappointment was lack of coffee filter/pot/way of making real coffee. Also bread knife which didn't really cut bread. Lovely spacious and comfortable bedroom with plenty of storage. Great to have immediate hot water. Nice outside space-lovely courtyard. Summary: We had a lovely stay here. The garden was relaxing and well maintained. The cottage felt safe, clean and welcoming. It was fairly near a main road but far enough away for the traffic to be not disturbing. The host is a butcher and he does excellent sausages and bacon. Only criticism was that the carpet was a bit worn at the entrance to the kitchen. The cottage is a few miles distant from Scarborough where you can find the nearest supermarket and other amenities - a car needed. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
