Summary: Clearly a well used and well loved hotel with some marks on the bath panel and walls. But the room was spotless, not a hair or bit of dust anywhere! Staff were so welcoming and friendly, I feel bad for the poor lady who had to let me in at midnight when I couldn’t get the code to work but I do appreciate there’s always someone to help. Could be noisy but it’s above a lively pub so I cannot complain and the atmosphere was really nice :) I will be in the area every few months so I think I’m now a loyal customer of theirs :)

Summary: Room was beautiful and clean. Property fulfilled my request for simple birthday decoration for my room. Easy check in and check out. Property just next to train station, easily accessible to Edinburgh city. Those who feel pricey to stay at around Edinburgh city, please come stay here instead as it will save you a lot! Thanks Star and Garter hotel!

Summary: The hotel rooms are boutique styled and well provisioned with water and tea, coffee etc. Be aware - all rooms are on the top floor and there is no elevator. Staff were very friendly, Ahmed excellent. Breakfast was slightly disorganised which let the experience down.
