Positive: We stayed at the new apartment (beautifully done) in town and not at the hotel which was a 5/10 minute drive away. This surprised us as we didn't expect that. We booked on basis of easy parking and grounds of the hotel especially as we have children, so didn't get either. Having said that, the apartment was nicely done and great location in town. Good for a guests with no children and want a central location. Parking was on the road so was hit and miss re parking near to the apartment.
Negative: The website was not clear as to the location of the apartment. Also the apartment hadn't been checked on the day we arrived (or as it turned out for about 2 days or so) as when we gained entry, there had been a flood in the lounge from above (the ceiling was wet and looked like it could collapse). The floor and rug sodden. Staff quickly came down to the property to sort it out, but not a great start. In addition, the emergency exit routes in the apartment were locked and a fire risk in the event of an emergency. Parking was not an issue for us (as no parking restrictions) but will be in the future as parking restrictions have now been introduced. So can be an issue with conveniently loading and unloading luggage.
Summary: Very nice, but teething issues with apartment in town.

Positive: The room was lovely and very comfortable. Nice size and good view of the garden. We ate in the restaurant which had great staff and good food. A little quiet classical music in the background might have been good.
Negative: We landed early and sped we might book in early as we were tired. It would have only have taken the cleaner 15 to 20 mins and the young female receptionist said she would come and get us ftom the lounge but she didn't bother.

Positive: We had a lovely one-night stay here. The room is clean and spacious, the staff is very friendly (also to our dog) and helpful. The location is a bit outside the town centre in a quiet area ideal for a relaxing spa hotel. The supper and breakfast were very good. The dog isn’t allowed in the restaurant but we could bring our breakfast to the bar area which was great too; they offered us the menu from the restaurant in the bar area in the evening.
Negative: Nothing negative to say.
Summary: Great relaxing stay, competent and friendly staff, good food.

Positive: We liked the history of the property It was a quirky and well presented Location was great for exploring and car park, a short walk, safe, easily accessible and affordable.
Negative: About the location - We felt a little deceived the property was not closer to Stratton house hotel and spa as advertised under the hotel and spa umbrella - we were at a wedding there and thought the property was on site or immediately off site. It was actually 1.5 miles away. A little too far in heels! Taxis need pre ordering. About the property- Water was cool, no clear instruction how to alter heat setting. This was disappointing and made us think twice about hair washing!! Another seat in the living room would have made for a slightly more comfortable stay for 6 adults. However, this didn’t disappoint us too much. 1 loo roll seemed a little tight, fortunately the property is on the high street and we arrived before shops closed. Comments not intended negatively but constructive suggestions for the future.
Summary: Perfect, suited all our needs for the weekend.
