Located in the charming village of Rogachevo this delightful villa is an ideal location to enjoy all the experiences that a holiday on the black Sea Coast can offer.
Ideally located to offer both a very relaxing peaceful holiday within a countryside setting and yet only 10 to 15 minutes drive away from the bustling resorts of both Albena and Golden Sands the location is a superb base to offer all options.
In addition there is also the excellent towns of Balchik and Kranevo to supplement the overall holiday experience with their places to eat, shops bars and the marina at Balchik where you can organise sailing days up the coast to Cape Kaliakria.
The villa has 3 bedrooms, 1 double and 2 twins, it has a large family bathroom upstairs, a separate toilet upstairs and new well equipped large shower room downstairs next to the main lounge.
It has a main dining area set-up for 6 main guests and a well equipped kitchen with fridge-freezer, washing machine, microwave, oven, hob, extractor fan, coffee-maker, cool boxes and wine cooler.
There are extensive entertainment options available in the villa with free unlimited broadband connection, wall mounted TV , DVD player, internal music system, Sony wi-fi speaker for inside and outside use an extensive DVD collection and X-Box with controllers and a number of games .
There is a CD player for outdoor use either beside the pool or for outdoor entertainment at night.
There is an outhouse with a large fridge freezer for drinks storage and large bottles.
The main lounge and all bedrooms have full air conditioning.
The private pool has its own pool side bar with 6 large loungers and there is an outdoor patio area for dining alfresco in the evening looking over the fields to the Black Sea in the distance.
Varna airport is approximately 20 minutes travel time and there is also the option of flying to Bourgas and travelling up the coast which is approximately 2 hours.
Varna airport is serviced by Balkan Holidays, Wizzair, EasyJet (Gatwick), there are also connecting flights to Varna from Sofia.

Summary: This was our first visit to Bulgaria and the Bolthole was perfect for our family of 4. With two teenagers in tow access to WiFi was a godsend. We loved being able to relax by the pool but equally enjoyed exploring the local area. We weren’t that impressed with Golden Sands but loved Kranevo and the Nomad bar in Albena. (This was great for lunch, dinner and sipping cocktails on your sun lounger.). Balchik was a brilliant place to visit for dinner as there are so many restaurants on the prom. We also visited the Stone Forest which everyone enjoyed and made a couple of trips to Varna to visit the mall, the cathedral, the Sea Garden and to have lunch at one of the beach restaurants. Robin was very helpful with advice of what to do to enjoy our stay and Mikaela was brilliant in Rogachevo. She met us at midnight to show us how to get to the villa and was always on hand with ideas of restaurants and places to visit. Bulgaria is still a bit rough around the edges and you will find that you have to do a lot of pointing and smiling as ,outside the tourist areas , not many people speak English. However this never posed a problem and everyone was very friendly. I am a vegetarian and had a great eating experience as there are always lots of salads, grilled vegetables and cheese on the menu. We had a great family holiday and there was plenty to see and if you just want to chill the Bolthole is a great place to do it. The Clares

Summary: This was our first time at the Bolt Hole and it was the perfect retreat for a quiet family holiday. Clean, well presented and perfect in every way. The nearby supermarkets were well stocked and the restaurants in nearby Balchick provided great food and service on a nightly basis. It was the most relaxing holiday that we have had for many years. I cannot speak about the nearby beaches as we stayed by the pool for a fortnight! Mihaela, the lady who manages the property was always on hand to solve any minor queries. Highly recommended provided that you have a car. We will return.

Summary: The Villa was excellent, exactly as advertised. It’s location is very tranquil with local shops an easy walking distance away. The pool was fantastic, the highlight of the holiday, highly appreciated by the whole family, it was perfect for just spending the day at the villa, enjoying the sunshine and then cooling off by taking a dip in the pool! The BBQ was well used and loved by all, perfectly placed on the outside patio, allowing alfresco dining with a nice glass of Bulgaria wine. The Villa was clean and nicely furnished, a real home from home. We particularly enjoyed the upstairs balcony with unobstructed views to the sea and a cool sea breeze. A car is a must, if you want to visit the local resorts or the pretty water front cafes of Balchik. Recommend a visit to the Palace and the Botanical gardens with its locally made speciality wine and free tasting. Local expats Ian and Michaela who help to service the Villa were on hand for any questions or help if needed. The Villa made our holiday and we left feeling relaxed and re-energised. All in all an extremely relaxing two week holiday.

Summary: I spent a week with my daughter at the end of May.This was my first visit to Bulgaria and was unsure what to expect however i was very impressed.The villa was most welcoming-a home from home-with many extras like free wifi access making for a great stay.The rooms are spacious and well appointed they all lead onto the balcony that overlooks the pool.The outside space is large and allows for eveyone to get a good spot to soak up the sunshine.Michaela who looks after the property was extemely helpful and there is a comprehensive manual left by the owner with suggestions and tips for you to enjoy your stay.I loved the day up at the golf club Black SeaRama where we enjoyed our lunch overlooking the course with spectacular views over the black sea and down the coast to Albena and Golden Sands.The beach at Albena is a short drive from the villa and you can enjoy a stroll along the lovely sandy beach before having a leisurely lunch or afternoon cocktail to refresh yourself.Food and drink is so cheap its hard to spend your money.All in all a great place to have a relaxing break and would love to go back.Would highly recommend a visit!

Summary: This villa made our holiday. All the rooms are finished to a high standard and even with five girls we all managed to unpack with more than enough room. The service from Robin and Michaela (who will meet you when you arrive) was faultless and the extra hints and tips were amazing. The pool, bar and BBQ space were so lovely for hanging out at the villa and the balcony gave us a great venue to watch some of the thunderstorms we experienced during our stage. Thank you so much for having us, we are looking forward to coming back to stay as soon as possible! Would recommend to groups or families, fantastic!!!

Summary: We stayed at Villa Ecosse during the last 2 weeks of August 2013, this was our third trip to this villa over the last few years. What a fantastic villa it is with an amazing outlook to the Black Sea and all the benefits of being located in such a charming village which is close to everything you would want from a holiday. The villa itself is one of 4 similar located on the south side of the village will clear uninterrupted views towards the Black Sea over open fields. Rogachevo, is located on the main route to the resort of Albena, a 30 minute drive from Varna airport. The village itself has three shops and English bar and a Bulgarian restaurant oddly called St Patricks all an easy walk from the villa. We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the villa with the privacy that it offers yet everything is very close at hand, one point of note is that this is a village and the road to the villa whilst on the level is a little rough or the last stretch, however by Bulgarian standards this is perfectly acceptable. The villa has a real charm about it and very homely with very good quality of furniture and fittings and there is ample entertainment options with Satellite TV, free internet access, DVD player and CD players for inside and outside whilst we were at the pool. We really appreciated the air conditioning in the main lounge and the bedrooms as the temperature on some days was in the mid 90's We didn't have a car, although they do advise this, and used the excellent services of local taxis to get to the local resorts of Albena, Kranevo, Golden Sands and Balchik and back to the airport at Varna for a very reasonable cost. The pool is uniformly deep at 1.8 mtrs and a good size to cool off and the closeness of the poolside bar and the exceptionally large fridge freezer in the outhouse as a welcome way to cool off on the excellent recliners that are provided. We loved doing our own thing on certain days with the outside BBQ area and often had breakfast and dinner outside meeting the neighbours from Dublin. We are all agreed that this is the most beautiful place to have a relaxing and entertaining holiday in such a lovely villa and we are already making plans to return this year.
