This home is a wonderful cottage-style property just a skip away from the beach and ocean! It has a fabulous glassed-in sunroom and living room that allows you to soak in all the sunshine you can handle during your stay. The backyard serves as the perfect entertainment area, complete with a built-in bar and stone patio with tons of furniture you could easily waste away an entire day lounging in this area!
Old Garden Beach is easy walking distance for any guest. This is a small local beach that is one of the many hidden gems of Rockport! Rockport Golf Club is only 0.8 miles away. This home is also less than a mile from downtown Rockport where you can find dozens of shops and places to eat, making this home perfect for the shoulder seasons as well! If nature walks and hiking are up to your alley, head over to Whale's Jaw, a nature preserve with trails and beautiful scenery.

Summary: I would have given 4 3/4 stars if that was had been an option. We loved the house and the location. It was close to the center of Rockport and awesome scenery. We enjoyed many great walks from Sunset Cottage. There were minor issues found upon checking into the cottage, complicated by two tropical storms. Vacasa assisted us in a polite, prompt manner. The only thing that marred our stay was a refrigerator that never worked properly. We were able to get by using a cooler and the smaller beverage refrigerator (and many trips to the grocery store). For most of our two week stay, it was just my husband and me (another couple joined us for one weekend). If a larger family had been present, a non-working fridge would have been very difficult. I hope this can be corrected for future tenants. I know that we would like to return to this wonderful house.

Summary: Loved Rockport. Great location. Overall the house has great potential but there were some issues. Unfortunately we couldn’t appreciate the view because most of the shades are broken and can’t be raised, so the house is dim. There were no paper towels, not enough toilet paper for 2 days (and no spare rolls anywhere) and the downstairs shower didn’t drain and couldn’t be used. Asked Vacasa for help and they did not respond.

Summary: We adored our stay here! Our family tagged along with my husband on a business trip and I know where we'll be staying the next time he makes a trip to the cape. It offered plenty of space for us and our 8, 11, and 13 year old boys, who enjoyed curling up in cozy nooks throughout the house to read books they found on the bookshelves in their rooms. We also walked down to the beach every day of our stay to either watch our crazy boys play in the frigid October water or enjoy a sunset before returning to the warmth and comfort of the house. The location offered a great home base from which to explore the area. We didn't want to leave at the end of our 5 days here. Highly recommend this sweet house and we'll be back for sure!

Summary: Overall this was an excellent property, very homelike with beautiful decor and a personality to fit the environs. Layout was great, proximity to Rockport and the beach was perfect. Would come back for sure, highly recommend!!!!! Only areas for improvement are the double bed mattress in the rear bedroom (not the master by the bathroom) was absolutely hard as a rock, highly recommend upgrading. The trash under the porch was full when we arrived and there was no room for additional trash, also the real long term rental neighbors gave us the impression that guests often use their personal trash cans instead of the cans under the main house porch behind the latticework gate. This is a big issue as we had a decent amount of trash with several guests in the house and it shouldn’t be the rear guests’ responsibility to deal with overflowing trash at their long term rental. Thank you for welcoming our family into your home.

Summary: We wanted to stay close to the ocean and it was. We were not oceanfront but we were one row back. The ocean could be seen from the living room and some bedrooms.

Summary: The location of the property and its layout was ideal. Upon arriving, however, we noted that the home had not been properly cleaned. There were crumbs on the counter by the toaster, coffee and grounds still in the coffee pot. Upon inspecting the oven which we intended to use we saw that it was dirty and caked with food. We advised the property manager, Vacasa of this only to get an apology. We also sent pictures. Noone was sent out to clean. When we went to throw out the trash, we saw that the trash was not emptied and nearly full, so we had to keep the trash in the house until someone was sent to empty it. When we tried to use the oven to heat food, the oven handle came off in our hand. It had been glued on. When we went to use the second bath, we realized that the tub stopper did not open rendering the shower/tub unusable. The last night of out two weeks stay we were sent a text from Vacasa that someone could come over at night or the next morning to work on the issues. Too little, too late. We have rented homes in Rockport for decades. Never had a complaint. This is the first home we have rented that was managed by Vacasa. Not a good first impression. We should at a minimum been offered a refund of the cleaning fee and some portion of the rental cast.

Summary: Check in was a breeze , house was very clean ( minus a few of the rugs and pillows , some need to be replaced) great layout with nice details. Very comfortable beds and ample linens and towels . Location is terrific , beautiful street with magnificent homes and the ocean views were spectacular. Very close to main street . Overall a great stay !

Summary: The house was fine overall. There was no hairdryer which was in the listing. I would've brought my own had I known. There wasn't a regular glass measuring cup but there was specialty cookware and utensils. There was no place to hose off after the beach. The outdoor shower had gardening supplies in it and was attached to a rental property in the rear of the property. The person that lived there said he didn't know if it actually worked. There was no hose to use either. The property wasn't ready for check in until 4:45 PM, and was supposed to be ready for 4 PM. We were told something came up. It was a rainy day, so we waited in the car until it was ready, as we were originally told it would be ready by 4:30. That night when I was getting ready for bed, I noticed the upstairs bathroom was almost out of toilet paper. There was not any spare rolls in the house, so I texted the number that texted me about check in to ask for more toilet paper. I was informed that they don't replenish goods like toilet paper during the stay. I was extremely upset because we were only given one full roll of toilet paper for two bathrooms (for 5 people for 3 nights). I purposely rented a house with bathrooms on both levels so my elderly mother didn't have to go up and down the stairs in the middle of the night. I texted back complaining and they did send someone out the next day with toilet paper (after we had run out). It was a really stressful start to the vacation between not being able to check in on time and then being given a hard time about the toilet paper. I'm sure if I checked out 45 minutes late and said something came up, there would've been an issue. Last year I rented a house in Rockport through a different company and had a wonderful experience. I don't plan on ever using this company again.
