Summary: I want to preface this review that we rented another house from same owner in the past, in similar area and had a better experience. The house was “cute.” However, we had cleanliness issues. Also, there were issues with little things like cabinets not aligned/not secured (noticed other renters commented on this). Further, we had quite a bit of dust in the house… it just didn’t feel clean. I wiped down all the surfaces with wipes I brought, as every surface was dusty/dirty.. We realized (too late at night to contact homeowner) that there was hair on bed sheets; not a restful night! There were issues with lacking waste bins, no paper towels, batteries in remote controls not working, batteries in smoke alarms causing issues (constant beeping). Owner offered to come at a time to replace smoke alarm batteries, but owner’s 1st response was for us to replace the batteries. We just turned alarms off. It was obvious batteries weren’t working upon entry to home… as they were beeping upon entry; perhaps it’s a cleaning service problem. We only stayed 1 of 3 nights we rented. I suggest less “trinkets” around the house and more focus on essentials like ensuring cleaning service keeps things clean and basics/essentials are in order. Perhaps if the owner can resolve the issues with cleaning/rental management things will be better in the future. Providing feedback as we have had better experience with this owner in the past at another property and hope this is just a one-off Thanks!!!

Summary: This is our second visit to Rockfish Bay and can’t wait to return again! Very comfortable and beautifully decorated home. A nice neighborhood conveniently located to whatever you may need. Enjoyed walking to Rolands grocery store and shark tooth hunting at Bayfront Park. Haven’t tried any of the restaurants but definitely looks like no shortage on seafood so will have to try another time. Would definitely recommend Chesapeake Beach and Rockfish Bay cottage!!

Summary: I stayed at this property for a few weeks while on a temporary business assignment and loved it! The house was very clean upon arrival and was stocked with everything that I needed during my stay. The owners were very responsive when I had questions. I will definitely try to stay at this home again when i am in the area.

Summary: We stayed here while visiting family in the area and we were very happy with the choice. Melanie was responsive to all our questions and the property was nicely decorated with all the comforts of home. We didn’t get to spend much time in the area, so can’t really comment there, but it worked out very well for our needs and we’d happily stay again.

Summary: This is one of those properties that is exactly as it is shown in the photos. Very well appointed and maintained. Perfect for a small family or a spoiled couple like us. The neighborhood is simple and not on the beach. BUT, one look to the right as you step to the street from the front door is the Chesapeake Bay. The price is well worth it and the owner response time was terrific! We absolutely loved how easy it was to walk to the boardwalk and easily get in a 3-4 mile walk with lots of friendly hello's from the locals (we were there in the off-season). We were there on business and commuted to nearby Dunkirk in a fraction of the time it took to get to corporate from the recommended hotels. We book with HomeAway for this very reason. If you are looking for a well appointed coastal feel in a very warm cottage, look no further. Shad (husband of the listed broker) was amazing. His sense of customer service and responsiveness is nothing short of excellent. It is no small wonder why this property was featured on HGTV. The back yard looked perfect for outdoor entertainment, Being from FL and seeing no firepit (probably an ordinance somewhere) caused us to stay inside with exception to the walks we took. By the way, we were charmed by the small town of North Chesapeake Beach when by sheer happenstance we found ourselves waving and smiling to the Christmas Parade we stopped to watch on Saturday. This one is a keeper. Should we find ourselves back at the beach, we will most certainly looking for the same lodging opportunity.

Summary: Overall we had a very good time staying at this home. I was staying with my wife and my two children for a whole week for Thanksgiving vacation. We enjoyed the kitchen very much. The house is very well furnished and cozy. There is one thing you need to keep in mind is if you have toddlers, it might be not a good place for them to run around. There are many fragile objects. We actually had to move many items to hide from our 14 months old.

Summary: This house was really nice! It was just as the pictures had shown. Everything was clean, updated and decorated really well. The house had a super cozy home feeling. We had no issues and everything worked well. The location was perfect for what we needed and close to everything: restaurants, stores, the bay, and, for me, my family. I hope to stay there again on my next visit!
