This brand new home is an open-air luxury villa designed by famed architect John Hix to maximize your time spent enjoying Vieques natural beauty. The home features absolutely stunning views of the Caribbean from every room, including five outdoor showers. I legitimately believe this is the most beautiful place on the planet! So much so that my fiancé and I are getting married here in February of 2019. So my money is where my mouth is, so to speak. And we would love to host you on your first (or next!) visit to Vieques.
Encantada is an open air, concrete eco-luxury villa that combines indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly together and gives you true enjoyment of nature in a remote island paradise. There is absolutely no glass in the entire house, yet the temperature is perfect.
Featuring a 94 foot infinity pool steps from the kitchen, dining and living space, and a two minute walk down to a gated beach entrance, this home is exactly what you ve been waiting for and reading about experiencing in Vieques.
Before you sleep you ll look up into the night sky and see the Milky Way, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter clearly and you ll realize how everywhere you usually travel has light pollution that ruins your star views. When you wake up in the morning you may see wild horses walking along the beach and hear waves crashing on the shore.
At dusk, AKA "golden hour" you ll see the most beautiful sunsets reflected on the clouds and the coconut palm trees reaching up towards the sky west of the property. You will wonder why you should even leave for dinner at the phenomenal local restaurants when you could just cook hamburgers on the grill and drink beers and frozen drinks while the sun sets.
OK, enough romance. Some quick facts about the house and property:
-Encantada is a 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk to Esperanza, the beautiful, sleepy fishing village on the southern coast that is quickly becoming the hub of tourism on Vieques
-The home features 6,000+ square feet of living space and comfortably sleeps 16. That s using five bedrooms (two of which have sleeper sofas in addition to their king size beds) + one office with a sleeper sofa
-There is a 94 foot infinity pool that sits just off the main living space and faces down towards the Caribbean Sea
-There is a walk way down from the pool to a gated beach entrance that opens onto Coco Beach, one of the most picturesque beaches I ve ever seen. Victoria s Secret Swim 2015 was shot here on this beach.
-There is beautiful landscaping including interior courtyard bamboo gardens, lush pool planters and multiple outdoor showers
-All of our appliances are brand new and high end. Wolf stove, Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, two pairs of washer and drier, etc. Complete luxury.
-Similarly all of our furniture is brand new, primarily Restoration Hardware brought in by containers from the mainland US and designed to be beachy, clean and modern and allow complete post-beach relaxation
My extremely experienced property manager, Karen, will be available as desired during your stay. She knows Vieques quite well and has handled every rental issue under the sun for her other properties. She is a truly invaluable resource, dedicated to making your stay on Vieques absolutely amazing. I fell in love with Vieques about two years ago and only wish I could spend more time there. I’m more than happy to share my favorite island activities and restaurants with you as helpful. Our goal is to help you experience the best that Vieques has to offer.
*The Casita is currently being renovated & there are no guests staying at the Casita. There is minor interior construction ongoing but no disturbance to Villa guests** There is a Casita on a different part of the five acres (see my other listing). Together, guests from each house can access the entirety of the property outside of the two individual homes, from the electronic gated main entry to the gorgeous beachfront, also accessed by private gated entry. Casita guests cannot access the main villa nor the main villa pool, and Villa guests cannot access the Casita.

Summary: The views day and night were out of this world. We took our family of 16 people. The house fit everyone extremely comfortably. The kitchen has absolutely everything you may need. There is an ice maker for ice. All beds were comfortable and plenty of supplies for everyone. The third floor views were spectacular. The pool was well kept and huge. The beach in front was perfect for a daily dip. The yard in front was perfect for volleyball , soccer or kites. Karen was attentive each day of our stay. And helped us with anything needed. Thank you so much for an amazing experience that we will never forget! We will surely be back again!Edelweiss

Summary: The property was amazing. Property manager was very helpful and her communication was impeccable. We had our wedding in Encantada and our family and guests said that it was the most amazing wedding ever! Everything from beautiful views, great location, beautiful pool, great kitchen(ice machine was amazing) , and such a grand place to stay. My family and I will definitely be staying here again!!!

Summary: Beautiful home , wide open and in touch with nature , the view of the ocean, star gazing from each room and the view from the rooftop terrace for sunsets was amazing. The pool is unbelievable , the site of the home is right next to the Mélançon to the right and close to the black sand beach to the left . An overall joyous Easter week-weekend for my family , there was 12 of us in all, we were comfortable, in awe and had a truly great time . 5 star owners who were available for any questions and attentive to our needs, as a villa owner myself I not only give the property 5 stars I give the hosts 10 stars out of 5!

Summary: We stayed at the property with a group of 13 friends. We had a fabulous time, and Karen was great in helping us prepare for our stay. She was very communicative and made everything very smooth. The temperature was great, and it was nice to be connected to nature. The property is absolutely stunning, I don't think pictures really do the house justice! The pool is HUGE and amazing, and having direct access to a beautiful beach and lots of room to relax and spread out in the house was amazing. Note that the property is completely open air, so it has no windows.

Summary: The property is incredible! Great location, stunning view. Karen the property manager is top notch and was easy to communicate with. I couldn’t quite give it 5 stars. For a couple of reasons: 1. It’s an “eco” property so all the windows and doors stay open all the time. This is so it stays cool enough with no A/C. It stayed plenty cool, but because of this there are a fair number of insects, including mosquitos, that enter the house. The mosquito nets were more like little tents you put on top of the bed, rather than a net that goes over the bed. The listing doesn’t mention any of this, so it’s good to be aware of it. 2. For the nightly price we paid we had hoped for hot water. It worked in one shower, but the others were lukewarm at best. Also would recommend better shower heads in the upstairs bathrooms. They were quite cheap and didn’t work well. Not a big deal, but again for the price paid we expected a little more. Other than these two minor issues, we had a blast.

Summary: This house is amazing! We flew into San Juan and then booked a shuttle to the Puerto Rico Ferry. You will want to get your online tickets at the beginning of the month. Once there, we picked up our 3 cars from Maritzas. Karen (property manager) greeted us and was wonderful helping us with everything. We had 13 people and a baby. The house was clean and comfortable. Loved the open air throughout the house. Drove to different beaches, did a fishing charter, bioluminescence bay, and enjoyed 2 different chefs that came to the house. Chef Sonia Romero and Chef Beverly Davenport. The grocery stores had enough to have meals at the house. The pool was great. Our boys were able to play some baseball in the large yard. This place is by far the best vacation home on a wonderful island.
