Summary: Overall it was comfortable and we had a pleasant stay. The location of the property and the area we were in is excellent. You can walk to most major attractions and there are lots of restaurants and food options. The building and unit has full security. The host was great, let us check in early and offered lots of advice about the City. The beds are comfortable; there is some street noise, especially on the weekend so expect your sleep to get interrupted from time to time. The living room is lovely, with a nice sitting area, however the only tv is in the bedroom. There are some things that were not clear in the listing when we booked, although it seems to have been updated since. The unit is on the third floor, and you have to walk up four flights of stairs. The mezzanine for the second bed is accessed by a steep ladder and the shower is a rain head over a jet tub, so getting in and out is a challenge especially when everything is wet. The tub really could use a grab bar for safety. With two large windows, there is no privacy in the bathroom. The kitchen is very small, the appliances work but are very dated, and it could use a little decluttering and cleaning. Definitely some pros and cons for us.

Summary: The greatest advantage of staying here was the location. Practically everything we wanted to do or see was in the neighborhood or just across the river. We could walk just about everywhere and we did. The three of us had celebrated our 70th birthdays this year and we were challenged by the walk up 50 stairs, lack of fans (only one was in the apartment and we immediately bought another one) or AC during the heat wave, climbing the ladder to the loft, and lack of safety features in the bathroom. Two of the three guest tripped and fell going into the bath leaving us with scrapes and bruises. The kitchen was adequately stocked and the small refrigerator was expected. However, we sure did miss having ice for drinks to cool us off. The loft was so dusty footprints were left all over the floor . There was a lot of old ingredients in the kitchen. Coffee was stale in the opened bags and except for the sugar, salt and pepper, we decided not to use anything in the cabinets. In the bath room’s lower cabinet drawer were lots of old and partially used miscellaneous bathing items and I found the smell very unpleasant when I opened the cabinet doors for a towel. The new towels and loft bed linens were nice. We all appreciated finding the supplied laundry soap, dishwasher detergent, trash bags and cleaning items. The apartment was lovely and very comfortable but with the windows open, the street noise and trash trucks were quite loud early and late.

Summary: This is the quintessential Paris apartment! In addition to the charming decor and ideal Left Band location, it included a washer/dryer! The property owner was very helpful in helping us plan our arrival and departure logistics to perfection. I will definitely return the next time I visit Paris!

Summary: It was our very good luck to find a 2 BR, 2 Bath apt that was suitable for my family (four adults), and everything about this apartment was wonderful. The apartment was well appointed, modern, comfortable and very well maintained. The bedrooms were clean, sheets were comfy and the beds were very comfortable. Also we slept well, as the bedrooms were very quiet and peaceful at night. The bathrooms were spotless. The kitchen was well equipped, water pressure was excellent. Appliances all worked well. Having a washer/dryer was also a huge plus. Everything in the apt. was just as shown in the photos, and Gisele was lovely, trustworthy and so easy to deal with. We loved the location of this apt in the beautiful St. Germain des Pres neighborhood with lots of restaurants, shops, within a few minutes. We were able to walk to the Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle, Louvre, Tuilerie Gardens. We felt like real Parisians for a week! We will definitely recommend this apartment to friends and plan on returning next year.

Summary: Absolutely loved this apartment! Stayed there for a week. It is perfectly located right in the heart of everything. Easy walking distance to most major sites, plus two Metro stations just a few blocks away. Plenty of shops and restaurants (highly recommend Cafe Bergamote on rue Montfaucon next to Marche Saint Germain) nearby as well. And best of all, there is a Gerard Mulot patisserie just about a block away! That became a must-stop for breakfast every morning and we even picked up dinner there one evening. The apartment itself was clean (the housekeeper met us and showed us around, handed over the keys, etc.--she's super nice and we managed between her limited English and my limited French to communicate just fine). The apartment opens on the bedrooms, which are plenty big for dropping off the day's shopping! There's a bathroom with a shower on that floor, too. Up the spiral staircase is a spacious living area with a second full bath. We didn't use the kitchen too much, but it has everything you'd need if you decide to cook. Also, I want to thank Gisele for her patience in dealing with my anxiousness (this being the first time I've used Home Away) and for providing such thorough information about the apartment. I highly recommend this apartment and would eagerly stay here again! It was the perfect home in Paris.
