La Pergola is exquisitely furnished, set in 4,000 sq metres of private land with sea views and situated between Mojacar Pueblo, (the hilltop old town) and Mojacar Playa (the beach). With its many terraces and beautiful gardens it offers privacy and solitude but remains within walking distance (10 minutes) or driving (2 minutes) of beautiful Mojacar Playa with it’s abundance of beach bars, restaurants and shops.
Villa La Pergola has been beautifully restored and modernised but retains it’s original Moorish charm including oak beams, hand made Andalucian tiles throughout, parquet flooring in the 11m X 6m lounge diner, floor to ceiling original stone fireplace and hand crafted wardrobes and feature windows.
On the ground floor there are two double bedrooms ; each with en suite bathrooms, air conditioning and balconies with sea views. The third bedroom is an air conditioned en suite twin room overlooking the garden and terrace to the front.
There is a fully equipped modern granite tiled kitchen including 6 burner gas hob, Bosch fan assisted ovens and dishwasher.
There is a separate luxury WC.
Downstairs in the self contained apartment there is a further double bedroom with air conditioning, a lounge diner with 2 large leather couches which convert to double beds, a separate fully equipped modern kitchen with dishwasher, utility room with washing machine / dryer and a family bathroom. The apartment also has a separate entrance with it’s own garden area and terrace.
The Villa is comfortable and spacious and decorated to the highest standards with Villeroy & Boch and Santini sanitary wear throughout, and furnishings by Ligne & Roset, Lombok, and Aznar.
Outside the lounge there is a 10m x 6m swimming pool, terrace and seating areas (created and designed by Brighton Architect Russ Drage) complete with waterfall, huge archways and sea views and illuminated at night. The contemporary outdoor furniture is by Skyline.
In the barbecue area on the dining terrace there is both the original stone Barbecue with canopy and a modern gas barbecue as well as outdoor sink and fridge.
There is further Skyline furniture and seating for 10. In addition, the kitchen garden and terrace has a dining and seating area for 6.
There is an additional outside utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and there is a large private car park.
The location is quiet and tranquil yet only 2 mins drive or 10 minutes walk from the seafront (Mojacar Playa). The seafront is 17 km long and there are beach bars, cafés and restaurants, yet it still remains unspoiled. The resort itself is very much family orientated and is very busy with Spanish in the peak season.
There are three lanes leading to various parts of Mojacar, so very convenient for going out for the evening and leaving the car at the end of one of the lanes. There is an excellent bus service running from the playa to the pueblo and the local taxis know La Pergola well! We would recommend car hire and can help advise you on local agents.
The old town (Mojacar Pueblo) is perched high on the hill looking down on 17kms of beaches. Mojacar is sandwiched between the mountains of the Sierra Cabrera and the Mediterranean sea. The old town is captivating with its whitewashed ancient buildings, labyrinth of winding cobbled streets, alleys and courtyards and there are magnificent views to the mountains, sea and the Taberna desert.
Mojacar remains true to its Moorish legacy with its old Moorish fortress (or Santa Maria church as it is now) and the architecture of the area still evokes an Arabic aura. Under a law passed in 1987, the Arab architecture here will be preserved for posterity. There are small cafés bars, restaurants and shops in the Pueblo.
