Walk through the door of this recently built log home and you immediately feel the warmth of the cedar logs and hardwood floors that surround you. Enter further, and you’ll utter the exact word that nearly every single person that came before you: WOW! It’s the 2 story, floor to ceiling windows, filled with a stunning view of Lake Superior a mere 60 feet away that causes this involuntary response. The undeniable sights, sounds, and smells of the environs of Lake Superior have taken over. It is now that you realize your journey has ended and your vacation has begun.
To take advantage of this spectacular view, you’ll enjoy it from a very open living space with vaulted ceilings. The dining room and living room are centered on a natural stone fireplace. You’ll move around the space as you prepare meals in the well-equipped kitchen, enjoy eating at the 6-seat dining room table, and then move into the relaxing living room for an evening of a crackling fire, good conversation, reading, darts... or whatever suits the mood.
When it’s time to retire for the evening, the downstairs bedroom sleeps 2 in a double bed while the master suite/loft includes a queen bed and very comfortable double air-mattress. As you awake from your lofted slumber in the master suite, you’re once again face-to-face with beauty of Lake Superior.

Summary: We had a wonderful week in a wonderful cabin. Enjoyed beautiful fall colors along our daily walks right outside our cabin door. Weather was a nice bonus with temperatures at least 70 degrees for the first four days, then more seasonal temps. Enjoyed hiking at Presque Isle park and exploring some of the surrounding areas. Had mostly home cooked meals but also went to the Lumberjack Bar and Thunder Bay Inn in Big Bay, both of which were very good. Dave’s cabin is, by far, the most well stocked cabin we have been in. Appreciated the supplies of paper goods and kitchen utensils. Loved the cabin itself, used the fireplace a few times, enjoyed the deck and outdoor grill and of course the great views. We spent a lot of time just hanging out at the cabin and it was wonderful! There is a very nice loft bedroom area but we were not fans of the staircase leading up to it. We chose to stay in the first floor bedroom which was perfectly nice and comfortable and more convenient to the one bathroom which is on the first floor. The furniture was all fine but felt maybe it was time for a different sofa, a little saggy to sit in. Overall, we couldn’t have been happier with this cabin and would definitely come back again!! Summary: Staying on the shore of Lake Superior was an awesome experience. We were able to just sit and watch the waves roll in or on a calm day, we went kayaking. There are lots of hiking trails within a short drive towards Marquette too. The neighborhood is secluded and quiet. A great place to go for some relaxation!

Summary: The cabin is beautiful and located perfectly right on the lake. I've been to Big Bay many times and this place definitely rated among my favorites. I stayed here with my sister for a little famly retreat but would accommodate a larger group and also be a wonderful romantic getaway with a loved one as well.

Summary: The house was just as advertised. Beautiful home and very worthy of the 5 stars. The interior of the house was very clean and the views were spectacular. The area surrounding the house was perfect for our morning walks. The home is situated close to beaches and some beautiful waterfalls. A great week was had by my wife and I.

Summary: Absolutely stunning view!! House is wonderful. Well-stocked for cooking. Beautiful sunsets. Sand beach just down the road at Burns Landing. If you want to chill and decompress, you won’t find a better place! LOVED IT!

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Dave's cabin. While the cabin was clean and comfortable - the best aspect was the location. It sits right on Big Bay, which is a little bay. I started every morning in a camp chair on the edge of the yard just above the shoreline. It's an ideal place to read, journal, and be still still. We were there for one week, and we watched all but one sunset from Dave's place or on the water with his kayaks. We saw the other sunset from Little Presque Isle Recreation Center. FYI this is a beautiful sandy beach with sand dunes and a pine forest backdrop. Dave's place was a perfect hub for our daily hiking. I'd like to say Dave gave a quick response to our needs, but we didn't need anything! He had everything perfectly prepared. We were there July 6-13. We had one day with bad flies by the water. After a light rain, they left. The screened in porch was a perfect place for coffee during the morning rain. We would definitely return to this cabin. Thanks Dave!

Summary: This is a wonderful cabin in the best location ever. Check in was smooth and easy and the cabin itself is amazing. Well stocked, clean, and wonderful location right on Lake Superior. Wood burning fireplace, sun room and great deck overlooking the lake. Will definitely return.
