Facing the sun with stunning view of Mount Ruapehu this is a very warm and spacious home in a Central and Quiet Family friendly location only a short lovely 10 min Nature walk to town with its shops, cafes, restaurants etc.
A 3 minute walk to a Summer swimming hole in the river.
Only a short drive to all nearby activities of Skiing at Turoa or Whakapapa ski fields, Tramping / hiking - ex. the Tongariro Crossing, Mountain Biking - ex. The Bridge to Nowhere trail, Kayaking & Jet Boating on the Whanganui river, and more.
If you are looking for lots of space, you’ve found it! Large open plan living with Lots of space for everyone – a very large kitchen, dining table and 2 Lounge areas.
If you like to keep warm and cozy, this is it! Our home is modern, insulated with double glazed windows, heaters & electric blankets in the bedrooms, and a fireplace in the living area so is very comfortable and warm in winter - most days the warmth from the fire and the sun keeps the whole house nice and warm even without the heaters.
If you love sunny decks and summer BBQ’s – it’s all here - A great wrap around deck facing the sun all day with a BBQ for Summer outdoor living.
There's a lockable shed to store your bikes or any other equipment you bring along.
Great Place for Family(s) Vacations!
The Area: Little Hill is in a very quiet neighborhood with a few upscale homes, and lots of green, open space around our home. Only a short 10 min walk into town, or a 30 min walk to the Carrot park playground along a lovely path through native bush.
Turoa ski field and National Park are only a 25 min drive away, another 20 min and you are at the Tongariro crossing, the Chateau and Whakapapa ski field.
There are lots of options for awesome mountain biking ex. The Old Coach Road, The Bridge to Nowhere, Mangawhero River Ride, Rangatau Forest and many more.
Endless number of scenic trails for tramping in the area - and/or if you want to enjoy the water there is Jet Boating, Kayaking or Jet skiing on the Whanganui River.
Our caretaker lives in Ohakune and is only a phone call away should you need any assistance. We are also available via phone or email in case you have questions etc.
We do provide Pillows, Duvets with covers, bath mats and tea towels, toilet paper & soap, but not Linen (sheets & towels) Please bring your own - or we can provided these at an additional charge of $20/bed if you just let us know when booking or before arrival.

Summary: We had the most wonderful family Christmas at Lena's house. We were so comfortable and communication with host was excellent. House could be improved by having topper pads on top of queen size beds as they are rather hard and better/more lighting in the dining and lounge areas.

Summary: We had a good time in this house. It had everything needed for two families. The house is very spacious, and since we spent a lot of time inside, the children also had plenty to keep them entertained. Excellent communication with the owner of the house, who was willing to accommodate us when we were planning to stay an extra day. Highly recommended."

Summary: Big place, perfect for groups, ideally located. We were four adults and four kids - the house is massive and easily accommodates indoor activities but equally has a great deck and total views despite being walking distance from town.

Summary: The house was so functional for our family of 3 adults and 7 children of various ages. There were spaces for everyone to enjoy. The kitchen was a dream with everything available to cater for a big group. The deck had a great view of the mountain and the bird calls in the morning beautiful.

Summary: When we arrived we were gobsmacked by the size of the living/dining/kitchen area. It's huge! And all these rooms have spectacular views of Ruapehu. And the place stays incredibly warm. In fact, we had to draw the curtains to keep the sun out as it was too warm -- in the middle of July! Having four bedrooms and two bathrooms meant our party of six had ample space. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could imagine -- apart from a teapot.
