Stylish, contemporary beach cottage very close to the beach with stunning coastal path walks. Located on a popular surfing beach with Bigbury on Sea and Burgh Island only 10 minutes walk away, In season sea front bar and fish and chip beach shack. Just 15 mins walk to Journey's End Pub or 10 mins (tide permitting) to The Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island.
The Loft has two bedrooms, One king size double with TV, wardrobe and en suite bathroom with walk in shower. One Twin / King Size Double with wardrobe, TV / DVD. Family bathroom with large shower. Large kitchen and dining area with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, gas hob and oven. First floor large living room, TV / DVD, opening onto a glass fronted enclosed balcony, with table and chairs. The Loft benefits from central heating and private Wi Fi. Private off road parking, outside shower to wash off on return from beach, we can offer safe storage for boards, bikes etc on request. BBQ also available. Quiet, calm location.

Summary: Lovely property in close proximity to the beach at Challaborough Bay and a short walk to Bigbury. The property was as described and overlooks the Challaborough Bay holiday park. It's great for surfing and visiting Bigbury/Burgh Island. Salcombe is a short drive and there are many National Trust places to visit. Note that the drive down to the property is a typical road to the coast (e.g. steep and narrow).

Summary: We stayed at The Loft for the last week of the school holidays. The communication prior with the owners was very good and the check in process and directions were good. The house has 2 ground floor bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as a very well appointed kitchen diner, including walking up liquid , dishwasher tablets and laundry detergent. Everything was beautiful with lots of attention to detail. Upstairs is a lovely lounge and balcony, there is a TV and a cupboard full of board games and another full of DVDs. It was our first time visiting Devon and the only drawback is the access roads to the beaches, including Challaborough. They are often single track with passing places. This made for some stressful driving experiences! Fortunately you have access to Challaborough beach at the end of the road or a 10-15 minute walk along the coastal path to Bigbury and Burgh Island beaches, which became our preferred one, as we ditched the car after a few days. Overall we cannot fault the house and the owners were very kind, and if you’re a confident driver then the location shouldn’t trouble you either.

Summary: Just returned from 5 nights at The Loft. Brilliant location, fabulous accommodation. Less than 5 mins from the beach. Property exactly as described. Extremely clean and tidy. Owners really friendly and nice touch with the discount at the beach shop just round the bay. Lovely upstairs sitting area. Great fish and chips just off the beach. Would love to visit again.

Summary: We have just returned from the most amazing week. The location of the house to the beach made the holiday, it is literally minutes. We spent the week on the beach as had beautiful weather. We took the SUP to the beach daily, the weather meant we had calm waters. Russel and Amanda were fantastic hosts.
