Come stay at our freshly-renovated longère named Les Arcis. The 225 year-old home features beamed ceilings and cozy furniture throughout, giving it a sense of quality and charm. It has four bedrooms, three brand new baths, and its public rooms are newly freshened.
The private swimming pool extends the living outdoors and the terrace with its outdoor dining table offers a perfect place to gather. The charcoal grill ensures everything tastes superb.
Les Arcis is about a 10-minute drive from the historic town of Loches with its château, shops, markets, and restaurants.
When we set about renting Les Arcis, our objective was to create a lovely experience for our guests. The two factors we used in designing the house were comfort and style—everything had to live up to that measure.
If you are into castles, Château de Loches is ten minutes away in the center of Loches, and the remarkable Château de Chenonceau is only 35 minutes from the house. Further out are Châteaux de Amboise, Chambord, Villandry, and Azay-le-Rideau.
If you're more sporty, we have a nine-hole golf course just down the way, tennis courts in town, horseback riding nearby, plus cycling and canoeing along the Loire River.
Food and wine are very serious subjects in France and we have three standout restaurants in town, a farmer's market twice a week, five grocery stores, seven bakeries, and even a chocolatier. The area is known for its Sancerres, Chinons, Vouvrays, Anjous, and Saumurs.
Finally, Le Zooparc de Beauval, ranked as one of the top five zoos in the world, is a pleasant 40-minute drive from the house.

Summary: Never write reviews but felt compelled to leave one here. The pictures don’t do this listing justice, the house was larger than we imagined much to our delight. The outside areas are massive and completely secluded, the pool is bigger than the picture suggests and was a big hit with kids and adults alike. Internally the house is beautifully furnished but really practical and functional. Would happily come back again. As others have said you ideally need a car (which we had) as it is remote, which is what we were after.

Summary: Lovely restored farmhouse building - well set up and essentially is a home from home. Bedrooms all very comfortable and well equipped kitchen. Maybe the pool area could do with a little TLC but all enjoyed our time around the pool in the hot weather. Support from owner and local contact were very good whilst at the property to sort out any issues/questions we had. House is in a rural location but only a short 10 minute drive to the town of Loches which is fantastic.

Summary: If you want to get away from it all in rural France, this is definitely the place! Beautifully secluded and off the beaten track, yet close enough to all the amenities you could possibly need in the nearby town of Loches. We loved the stylish furnishings and luxe finishes to the bedrooms and bathrooms. The beds in particular were the most comfortable we've slept in outside of our own homes. We so appreciated the many thoughtful extras provided, like kitchen roll and dishwasher tablets - along with a very useful 'welcome basket' - thank you! We made good use of the pool although the weather was changeable during our stay - it was still fun to swim in the rain!
