Directly off a cobbled street you enter a large open plan living area, with windows giving views across the village roof tops to the countryside beyond. Casa Umberto is located in the historical centre of the lovely hilltop village of Montedinove.
The house, which is wonderfully light and spacious is laid out over four levels. On the ground floor is an open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room. A spiral staircase leads to the roof terrace with spectacular views toward the mountains and Adriatic sea.
Down the stairs from the open plan living area is a large bedroom with a double bed, a twin bedded room and between them a smaller dressing room or snug. The spacious bathroom is on this floor.
A washing machine/tumble dryer is located in the cantina which can be reached by steps down from this level.
You'll be personaly welcomed at the apartment, with a show round and introduction to Montedinove and the surrounding area. A welcome pack also provided as well as all towels and bedlinen.

Summary: We had a great week in this elegantly decorated house, modern design throughout with large living space, and 3 bedrooms nice and cool in the summer heat. The sunny terrace with comfortable seating for four adults, has stunning views across a patchwork of multi-coloured fields to the Adriatic coastline and Gran Sasso Mountains in the distance. We were entertained by the acrobatic swifts and martins darting over the rooftops. You can see other amazing views when exploring this peaceful old village. The village restaurant was friendly and welcoming even with our limited Italian, serving excellent local food at very reasonable prices, house wine and limoncello both cheap and plentiful too. The surrounding area is great for walking and wildlife, just head into Sibellini National Park or south of Ascoli-Piceno for clearly marked walks, many walking guides and maps are available. Our favourite walk of the week was through the Gola Di Salinello following a stream along a valley starting from Ripe (A-P). We visited in mid-June and had amazing weather. The mountains and valleys were beautiful and the walking paths quiet - giving the feeling of an undiscovered gem. Many thanks to Debby for a warm welcome and helpful advice and recommendations and being so accomodating of our later than planned arrival.
