Positive: On the positive side, the kitchen was well stocked with cookware, and they provided dishwasher and laundry detergent. The view from the unit is fantastic, the AC worked well, and Sugar Beach itself is very clean. If you like to snorkel, there is a large coral reef about 500 feet offshore. The ocean view from Unit 325 is a 10/10. The common areas including the pool, hot tub, BBQs, parking, and elevators are a solid 9/10. The room itself it a 7/10 at best. We plan to return to Sugar Beach Resort again, but next time we will choose a more recently updated unit.
Negative: The actual Unit 325 itself is closer to a 7/10. Please note that the photos on Booking.com are not photos of the unit you receive. Unit 325 is on the third floor with a beautiful ocean view, not on the ground floor with direct patio access to the pool area as shown in some listings (which is handy ofmyir have kids). Unit 325 is adequate but definitely showing its age. Our family of four enjoyed our 10 day stay, but had I known how dated the unit was, I would have spent a bit more and booked a more updated option. The carpets have many stains, the washer and dryer are old and extremely noisy, the stove burners stopped working randomly, the toilet plumbing was loud, and the bathroom sink did not drain well. The sofa bed also needs to be replaced. Our old sofa bed at home is significantly more comfortable. In

Positive: It is not what I reserved, so can’t give a clear review
Negative: Wasn’t able to find the “boasted private entrance”….. which is how I clearly knew that they put me in a different apartment than what it is that I reserved. They literally only gave us, two women, two rolls of toilet paper, and one roll of paper towels for an entire week. Yeah, not sufficient.

Positive: The resort was on the beach. You did not have to cross any road to go on the beach. The room and accommodations were very nice. Other vacationers were very friendly and kind. The bakery on Sugar Beach was amazing. Also the shave Ice on Sugar Beach was one of the best.
Negative: The hot tub was not hot for the first few days. They replaced the heater so it worked the last 3 days. There was not enough toilet paper for the whole week. When I asked at the reception desk and a worker, they said to call VACASA. I did and was told to provide my own.

Positive: Great location, great pool right on the beach. The unit was nice except for the couch. It was a pull out couch every cushion was ripped and the mattresses horrendous. It needs replaced immediately! Not suitable for anyone to sleep on we had to buy air mattresses to sleep.

Positive: Loved the spacious condo, being able to cook quality food in well equipped kitchen, the view of the sea, and the location in Kihei.
Negative: Unfortunately, for the last 2-1/2 days of our 6 day stay, we were unable to use the lanai due to workers repairing spalled concrete and painting, and creating dust and concrete chips. Big disappointment as we really enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner outside for the first few nights.

Positive: Great view and easy access to beach. Enjoyed the balcony and good-size balcony dining table and appreciated dishwasher and washing machine.
Negative: The building is very worn looking. There was zero room in the shower of the very small bathroom to put anything other than a bar of soap. The small bottles of shampoo etc provided kept falling on the shower floor. Easy enough to put a rack in to hold extras.
