New to VRBO, Summerhouse on Niles Bay; surrounded by towering pines, abundant sunshine, big water views, sandy shores and beautiful sunsets. This unique property, situated on 2 acres of land and 200 ft of shoreline, was formerly part of Camp Waconda; a YMCA base camp for portage and paddle trips into the BWCA in the 1960s. The main cabin is the original camp “lodge and mess hall”. The guest cabin and lakeside sleeper cabin are also renovated original camp buildings. Be a part of history with the comfort and conveniences of today; Welcome to summer camp! Your 350 miles of shoreline, 365 islands and 40,000 acres of pristine Lake Vermilion beauty awaits you!
The mess hall and camp lodge ( main cabin) features vaulted ceilings, wood stove, large wrap around deck and history etched original wood floors.

Lakeside Sleeper Cabin is exactly that; only steps from the waters edge with incredible sunrise and sunset views! A lit path leads you to this private get-away just steps from the main and guest cabins.

Lakeside you can enjoy the sun-filled days on the large deck/dock right on the water. From sun up to sun down this is a favorite spot for lounging, swimming, fishing and relaxing. Sand bottom for swimming, fun island & floaties for soaking in the sun and 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards to explore the shoreline and bays. Ample dock space with bumper posts for your watercraft.
Once the sun goes down, make s’mores and memories around the large campfire or the smaller lakeside fire pit and gather in the gazebo for cards and cribbage.
Don’t forget your golf clubs, bikes and pickle ball gear! The Vermiliion Fairways is a wonderful course for all ages and handicaps, 4 miles away. A short 25 minute drive to the other end of the lake, will bring you to The Wilderness at Fortune Bay. An award-winning course surrounded by northern pines, along the Vermilion shoreline. Don’t golf? Try your hand at the casino! Pickleball and tennis courts are also available. You will also find mini golf at Pier 77. The Mesabi Bike Trail offers miles and miles of paved trails. Have ATVs or SxS? Bring those too! Hundreds of miles of trails and your side x side may be used on all county roads.

Summary: We had a wonderful time at Summer House. They have everything you could ever need! There was so much space and so much to do. We go up to Lake Vermilion every year and would definitely recommend this rental! Amy and Greg were so great too, very responsive and helpful leading up to and during our stay. You won't find better than Summer House!

Summary: We had a wonderful time on the water and off at this beautiful vacation home. Lake Vermillion offers so much to do, and when we weren't on the water, we had plenty of space, had bonfires every night, and hung out on the dock - swimming, fishing, and just relaxing. The house has everything you need to cook great food, play games and cards, or just lounge around and nap. We'll be back to this spot!

Summary: Our family of 4 and our friend’s family of 5 stayed at the Summer House for a week! We had five kids there ages 7 and under. You will not find a VRBO more well suited for multiple families and families with children. There are three different cabins for sleeping which allowed us to spread out at night. There are so many outdoor games, balls, cornhole, board games, dice games etc for the kids to play when they weren’t swimming. The house is VERY well stocked and the kitchen supplies you with nearly anything you could need to bake or cook any dish. The owners were so easy to communicate with and very responsive! We loved our stay and will definitely be back next summer!

Summary: The weather didn’t dampen our stay at the Summerhouse. The accommodations for our family group were as good as advertised. The lakeside and separate cabin provided, added privacy for members of our group. The kitchen was fully equipped. Amy was a great communicator, both before and during our stay. She was extremely helpful making connections to a local mechanic to help get us on the road after the starter went out on our truck. We highly recommend the Summerhouse as a home away from home.

Summary: Property was great. Very private with great view and water access dock for bringing your own boat. Property was furnished with everything you would expect and then some nice extras you typically do not get. The two additional sleeping quarters were great for our boys. The kayaks, paddle boards and large tube kept everybody busy. Owner/property manager was great and very accommodating to make sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. House was clean and property well maintained.
