Much loved family holiday home with heated pool in the friendly French village of Sorede; only twenty minutes from the Spanish border in the foothills of the Pyrenees, this comfortable family home allows you to enjoy two countries and cultures at the same time.
Located in the popular and picturesque Catalan region, which with its rich culture and passion for food, wine and rugby, is renowned as the sunniest place in France, Sorede is known as ‘The Jewel of the Alberes’.
The house is 5 kilometres from excellent beaches and twenty minutes by car from the lively and atmospheric coastal resort of Collioure, famous as the home of the ‘Fauve’ movement of painters led by Picasso. Centre of Sorede and next door village of Laroque are both only a ten minute walk from the house with a good choice of village shops, bars and restaurants (3 listed in Gault Millau and Michelin guides). The area provides everything village life, the mountains and the beaches have to offer. This is ideal walking and cycling country, with year round sunshine, and typical Mediterranean night-life for teenagers just 15 minutes away on the coast.
The house has been recently furnished as a fresh, comfortable family retreat, sleeping eight with three bedrooms with twin beds and a mezzanine with two twin beds also; with TV/lounge area seating eight people, 2 bathrooms, fitted kitchen and an adjoining dining veranda with seating for ten. Wifi/Internet is connected.
Outside, there is a covered terrace for entertaining and dining for 10 people and a second open dining area with table and chairs for eight, Weber gas BBQ and a large private heated pool (10m x 4m), with sun decks, solar shower, parasol and loungers, all in a safe enclosed garden.
Ideal for families with young children as the property is completely enclosed and the pool is fitted with an electric safety cover.

Summary: Everything was as expected and access into the villa was a breeze. It was blistering 40 degree heat when we stayed which meant the villa could have benefited from air conditioning, however we managed with the fans provided. Once the extreme heat subsided the temperature inside the villa was manageable. David and his team were responsive to our issues and these were resolved quickly. We would stop here again the next time we visit the area.

Summary: Really nice villa in a nice neighbourhood. Beautiful pool and pool area. It was very hot our first week. We dreamt of Air Con! Having said that very well supplied with fans. Great gas barbecue. Villa owner and local property manager were both extremely helpful. We’d definitely stay there again

Summary: A wonderful time was had by the whole family. The owner David kept us updated all the way through the booking process and maintained the attentiveness from beginning to end - nothing was too much bother, with very fast communication throughout. We all enjoyed the pool and the views and the property lacked nothing but air conditioning - though we were there at the hottest time of the year with the pool reaching 32c!

Summary: We had such a wonderful holiday at this family home in Sorede. We were a group of two adults and four children, aged between 8 and 11. The pool was particularly lovely in size and temperature. The owner and his family were very helpful throughout our stay with local tips on child-friendly activities, and local places to explore. I highly recommend this home.

Summary: We had an extremely relaxing week at this house. It is very family friendly: the kids loved the pool and the adults loved sitting on the veranda looking up at the Pyrenees and enjoying wonderful outdoor meals. The house was clean, comfortable and well-furnished. The owners have obviously made sure it is well-set up for guests. All the necessities (and a few luxuries) of life are in the nearby towns, a short walk or drive away. Sorede is right in the foothills of the mountains and just 20 minutes from several fascinating old port towns and lovely beaches on the mediterranean. One of the highlights of the trip was hiking up the canyon behind the house which has several sublime swimming holes. Two of the more intrepid members of our party hiked up to a peak on the Spanish border - the rest of us drove up a jeep road and we met at the summit for a lovely picnic with incredible views. We spent the last evening enjoying a fantastic meal at a nearby vineyard on the coast watching the full moon rise and vowing to return. The region between Perpignan and the Costa Brava is a real gem and this house was lovely in every way.

Summary: Just returned from a lovely family holiday in Sorede. The house was perfect, very comfortable, clean and spacious The pool was a real bonus and kept my three children aged nine to seventeen happy for hours. Lovely, helpful English neighbours, close by meant we could get info on the best places to visit and where to eat out. I'm very fussy about where I choose to stay on holiday and spend hours scanning the internet. We were really pleased with our choice this year. The owner communicated well with us and was very helpful .
