Sunset Dunes is an updated, rustic farmhouse located on a beautiful piece of waterfront property in Blooming Point, Prince Edward Island. If you are looking for a relaxed, peaceful getaway look no further. The farmhouse is nestled around trees and offers beautiful panoramic views of Tracadie Bay with breathtaking sunsets.
We are only a 5-minute drive to Blooming Point Beach, 10-15 minute drive from multiple other beautiful beaches like Stanhope, Dalvay, and Brackley, and only a 25 minute drive to Charlottetown, the capital city of PEI.
Sunset Dunes offers a main floor bedroom, main floor bathroom with shower, washer/dryer, eat-in kitchen, eat-in sunroom, cozy living room with propane fireplace, sliding doors to a large deck overlooking the beautiful waterfront. The deck is equipped with a gas barbeque, large table and chairs to seat 5-6 people. There is an additional table in the sunroom to seat another 6.
2nd floor has 3 bedrooms (all double beds) and full bathroom and the 3rd floor is a large open space with a king size bed and 2 twin beds. A perfect extra space for kids to use as well!
June and September are great times for the avid golfer and our cottage is only 10 minutes away from the Links at Crowbush Cove, one of Canada's top golf destinations.
We have a portable A/C unit on the 3rd floor as it gets warm up there on the hottest days. We have no A/C on main or 2nd floor but there’s fans and always a nice breeze off the water with windows open :)

Summary: Sunset Dunes in Blooming Point PEI was a great central location. It’s a 25 minute drive to Charlottetown, 40 minutes to the furthest North East Point, and 40 minute drive to Cavendish. Nicole the owner was fabulous to communicate with. She dealt with some minor issues promptly. She was very helpful with any questions we had and made great recommendations. Beautiful view of the water and sunsets from the deck, however very difficult to swim and walk along the beach - very rocky. The cottage was well equipped and could sleep all 8 of us comfortably. No AC, and we went mid July, however the breeze from the bay helped cool the cottage down. Cleanliness of the cottage was average. Unfortunately there were areas/furniture that were not clean (all of the fans were full of dust, and we ended up cleaning a few that we used.) Our main concern was the maintenance of the cottage. Many screens had holes/rips in them and were repaired with duct tape. A lot of mosquitos/ants got into the cottage as a result. A couple of patio furniture items were broken. Although there are spices/sugar/salt left behind by previous guests, we would suggest you bring your own as they were not in good condition to use. Overall, we were satisfied with the rental.

Summary: The property is well suited for a large family group with lots of room inside to be together or to have some quiet time. There are lots of books for all ages and toys for the younger group. The cottage provides easy access to the beach and good for water activities. We really enjoyed our week at Sunset Dunes and the sunsets are phenomenal.

Summary: The hosts were great with questions we had before booking and they were answered quickly. The property is lovely with magnificent sunsets. It was well stocked and beds were comfortable. The mosquitoes and heat limited our enjoyment of the outdoors but not hosts fault. They offered at portable AC so we could use the 3rd floor bedroom but we’d already bought a fan and relocated to another room. We enjoyed our long awaited family return to PEI.

Summary: We really lucked out with this property. Although it rained most days it did clear up most evenings just I time to see the most beautiful sunsets. We enjoyed the water everyday and the cottage was big enough to fit all of us. The cottage had most everything we needed including outdoor games and the location was perfect to go into Charlottetown and see other parts of the island. The fire pit overlooks the water and allows you to enjoy the sunset until almost 10:30pm! I think there could be more seating outside and lounge chairs to enjoy some of the nicer days. Would definitely recommend. Great for families. Lots of little touches like wine, games and the record player to entertain everyone.

Summary: There was lots of room for all 6 adults and 3 children. The house is nicely decorated with amazing views from everywhere. We loved the big decks for relaxing and evening chats. The only thing I would say is the supplies that are listed are not plentiful so bring your own. Some of the beds are a bit hard but everyone’s preference is different. We loved our family time at the house!
