At Ruth's Cottage, enjoy breakfast in the fully-stocked, remodeled kitchen. Kick back and relax in the open living space with hardwood floors, a personal piano, and a record player! Live it up on the back patio and have an outdoor barbeque in the summer evenings. You won't want to miss out on making those craft cocktails. Enjoy a soothing bath in the claw foot tub, and retreat to bed with luxurious bedding. You'll feel like you've stepped back in time at Ruth's Cottage.The attention to detail when designing this rental makes it atruly special spot to serve as home while exploring Oregon's Wine Country.
Ruth's Cottage offers a large queen bedroom with a vintage four-poster bed and a private en-suite bathroom. The home's TV lounge room offers a Roku streaming device and an attached half bathroom. An additional double sofa sleeper is available to host up to two more guests. Best for children or one adult. When the Cottage is booked for four guests, we make up the sofa bed and provide additional towels, and amenities for all toenjoy.
The Cottage comes equipped with a washer and dryer that is available for guest use. We welcome guests traveling with up to two small dogs. The extremely private backyard is a lovely space to retreat to on those warm summer evenings. Now offering a new Weber propane BBQ and patio set in the summer of 2021!
Family items (baby gate, high chair, pack 'n play), yoga mats, air mattresses, and outdoor games (bocce ball, croquet) are available to rent upon request.
Due to existing damage to the garage door, we are asking that guests do not try to access the garage.

Summary: We stayed 3 days at this property while exploring the wine region. The home was very comfortable and beautifully renovated. The property is stunning with beautiful mature plants and a huge old oak. The home is close to town where we were able to walk to the local wineries and especially enjoyed Carlton bakery where we ate every morning! We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: Ruth's Cottage is as advertised - a charming farmhouse which has plenty of vintage touches AND is comfortable, cozy, and with all the amenities one needs. And its location can't be beat - just a short walk to downtown Carlton, an easy drive to McMinnville, and convenient access to everything that Willamette Valley wine country has to offer. I can't wait to return to Ruth's Cottage!

Summary: We stayed in this home to visit the Willamette Valley wine country. Carlton is a small town and a walk over. McMinnville is a short drive over. Everything was a short drive away. The home was equipped with everything we needed. We were looking forward to using the record player but it wasn’t working. Parking was a bit difficult since we were driving a Jeep truck and we could t quite fit into the driveway without sticking into the road. We had to park diagonally. The home is beautiful and the outdoor space was too, but we were unable to use it since it was raining throughout our entire stay.

Summary: Ruth’s cottage is an amazing place in sleepy Carlton where you can walk to amazing food and wineries. Perfectly located to all the area has to offer. My husband and I are going back this weekend.

Summary: The house was very cute and super close to downtown Carlton. We enjoyed the amenities and having a house to ourselves. We wished the bed had been a little more plush but overall we were very satisfied!

Summary: This is our 3rd stay in the area over the past few years but the first time in Carlton. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the towels/linens were quality and clean. Wi-fi worked great for streaming. Check-in was seamless. The location in Carlton is great - very walkable to numerous restaurants and wine tasting rooms (we loved Flaneur). We went to the Carlton Bakery several mornings for coffee, amazing pastries, and hot breakfast options. Nearest grocery store we found was in McMinnville - only about 10 min away. We took one day trip to Tillamook and the coast (about 2 hours each way) and we spent the rest exploring various wineries and nearby towns (Dundee and Newberg are favorites). We can’t seem to stay away from the Willamette Valley for too long and are sure to be back again in the next couple years!
