Charming waterfront 4 Bedroom / 2 BA house on Candlewood lake with private dock and toys. Lake living at its best out your back door. Great yard and updated house for hosting family & friends. Turn Key vacation ~75 minutes / 60 miles from NYC.
Screened in Porch, New backyard Patio w/ firepit, Grill, and backyard games.
Well stocked house with full kitchen, movies, board games, and more.
Candlewood lake is the largest lake in CT and is 22 miles from end to end. Park a boat right at your own dock and walk out the back steps to all day lake fun for the family.
Candlewood lake is on the bass professional tour for great fishing sport fishing. For kids, pull up sunnies instantly right from the dock.
For winter, enjoy cozy fires int he wood burning stove. The property is a natural sledding hill with 2 great slopes for a nice long run. Thunder ridge ski hill is 15 minutes away or Mohawk mountain is 45 mins away.
Owners have dog and house is dog friendly.
Entire house, property, and lake are at your service. 24 hour access with keypad entrance.

Knollcrest is a lakefront family community. House is on protected cove off the lake in a no wake zone for serene relaxing / floating right off the dock. Neighborhood quiet hours are after 9pm.
New Fairfield is a small town on the western side of the lake with everything you need 5 mins from the house. For more serious shopping or dining, Danbury is a quick 15 - 20 min drive. New Fairfield is the most convenient commuter side of the lake coming from NYC or lower westchester as you skip out on 84 traffic on weekends / holidays.

Summary: Landscaping was spectacular and we enjoyed a beautiful view of the lake. Baths and bedrooms very clean. Plenty of charging ports. Terrible mold and mildew smell in lower level. Number of hazards noted, handrail missing on stairs, no lights on outdoor stairway, thermostat access by leaning over the stairs. The property needs a good deep cleaning.

Summary: Perfect location for families with young children and pets to play in the water with limited boat traffic. Great yard with patios and fire pit for relaxing. Property manager was very responsive and great to work with. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for the great vacation memories!

Summary: We stayed for 2 nights over the Memorial Day weekend. The lake house was clean and comfortable. We rented kayaks from Candlewood kayak rental ($100/day incl. free delivery and pick up). As mentioned in another review, the next door neighbor has 5 dogs that barked incessantly whenever we were outside or on the porch, with or without our dog. They also barked at every passing boats, etc. so we were constantly hearing them. There is a fence between the neighbor and this property but one of the dogs jumped over the fence and frightened us and our dog. We could not enjoy the outdoor amenities (outdoor seating, grill, fire pit) at all for this reason. It’s very unfortunate (and not this owner’s fault) because there are few dog friendly rentals on this lake. The lake is narrow at this location and the road noise from across the water was constant. Probably not an issue during a week, but I do think people should be aware.

Summary: Could not ask for a better location on the lake. Having a dock right there behind the house, made things so much easier. It was a perfect house and property for our weekend fishing trip.

Summary: Overall we had a nice stay. The leaves were in full color change so the view was spectacular. It rained unfortunately so we really maxized relaxation, the screened in porch and the tv channels! Nicely appointed kitchen with all the equipment needed. Bedrooms were nicely sized and comfortable! Only thing that visitors with dogs might want to be aware of is were the house next door have a lot of barking dogs, and one did get loose one day when we were walking our dog in the side yard. When the neighbor dogs were out in their large backyard, they barked very aggressive toward our dog.
