Great location in Dodge County, less than an hour from Madison or Milwaukee and about 2-1/2 hours from the city of Chicago. Two rooms - The carpeted bedroom/living room has one queen size bed with a sitting area. Plus, eat-in kitchen and one full bath. 600 sq. ft. bungalow is the perfect get-away for singles or couples! Great firepit for roasting your marshmallows or cooking your breakfast. (Don’t forget your firewood). Gas grill is available on your private deck. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets available May- Nov and paddle boat and pier late may until early October.

Summary: A vacation for two became a peaceful R&R for one unexpectedly. Relaxing porch rocking chair for soaking up the scenery, a long hike at Horicon Marsh, followed by more relaxing. Great, quiet safe neighborhood visited by deer, woodpeckers, Great Blue Herons, Monarch’s and a few entertaining chipmunks and squirrels. Perfection.

Summary: We had the pleasure of staying at this quaint bungalow right on Lake Sinissippi. It was so beautiful and peaceful there. We relaxing drinking our morning coffee and tea in the rocking chairs and being able to watch the sunrise over the lake. It was a 30-40 min drive to a few major draws and a very impressive marshland. There were many wonderful small details provided that made it comforting. Like extra blankets in the closet and a variety of coffee. It was just what we needed to get away for the weekend.

Summary: We came to explore the marsh for a few days and found it to be fascinating. Highly recommend anyone staying here to do the same. The front porch is certainly the perfect place to be and the inside is cozy. One unique touch I really appreciated was the roll of brown paper hung on the wall next to the area’s travel brochures. Just as I realized I had forgotten my notebook I found it!!Thank you for being so thoughtful.

Summary: We just celebrated our 50th Anniversary and wanted to get away for a few days to just relax and enjoy alone time with each other. The Butternut Bungalow was great. Everything was clean and provide for. The amenities; the porch with its rockers, the pier with it's bench and paddleboat and the fire pit for our evening fire. We had deer everynight and the weather was perfect. I would recommend this bungalow for any couple just wanting to be alone and relax or an individual that needs downtime as well. Thank you Christi and your staff for making our time enjoyable.

Summary: My husband and I wanted a quiet, romantic place to stay for a long weekend away from our kids that would put us near nature. The bungalow was a perfect fit. Twice we drove to nearby Horicon Marsh and hiked/biked and saw wonderful shore birds, water fowl, turtles and even whooping cranes. We were very comfortable with the accommodations. We made use of the kayaks, we cooked in the kitchen and used the grill on the porch. The shower is great, the bed was firm and comfy, and everything is cute and cozy. We drove into Beaver Dam to see a movie, eat a delicious dinner, and get an ice cream cone at Annabelle’s. But perhaps the best part of our stay was just relaxing on the twin rocking chairs on the porch, playing cards, listening to crickets, and looking at the lake. We loved our stay.
