Positive: The accommodation is set back from the main road up a winding dirt road; my car navigation took me up the wrong one but the owner helped direct me in. The location is very much in nature and set in the woods. As I was in the area for work, I sadly did not get to enjoy the environs, given the winter daylight hours, but the accommodation and the owners were both charming. My early start meant that I could not take advantage of the breakfast option either, though I could have used the refrigerators and other facilities to make my own food. Bed and shower room were very comfortable and warm. The filter coffee (French press) was also very welcome.

Negative: The internet is a little tricky. I could not log on with my Apple laptop at all and my phone required re-logging on both evenings and both mornings. For most visitors who will be travelling for leisure and to get away from work, this is hardly an issue but for those who need to be connected, best to bear in mind that connection is not very fast and will need re-establishing.

Positive: We stayed at the hotel for one night and were delighted with our modern, spotless room. The owner gave us a wonderfully warm welcome and even showed us around the room. When we asked for restaurant recommendations in the village, she immediately helped us out. Breakfast the next morning was excellent—nothing was missing—and we were treated with genuine warmth throughout our stay. Thank you for such a lovely visit!
