Positive: Cozy cottage in the misty isle. We enjoyed our stay and had a great time. We always felt that someone put thought and care into the property. At last the stay was too short.

Negative: Nothing really to complain about. The shower was a little difficult to use since I am very tall and we drove past the property the first time because we were looking for red stairs like they are in the picture, but these have been painted gray meanwhile. But none of it hurt the stay.

Positive: Elgol is very rural, and absolutely beautiful. Make sure to take as much supplies as possible. There are lots of boat trips where you can see dolphins and seals. Do trekking around a loch, or hike Sgurr na stri.

Summary: Great if you want very rural, away from everything, but access to boat trips for very rural trips

Positive: The views from the home are stunning, being able to sit in bed and see down to the see whilst also having loads of birds and the odd sheep at the end of the drive was an amazing experience. The log fire really made the evenings special. Everything was clean and had the amenities needed for the week. The lady looking after the property, Sam, was really helpful and informative, she was so friendly. I can't rate this place highly enough

Positive: This was an amazing cottage in the most idyllic location! It was like being in the family cottage, very welcoming. Well appointed, cozy wood burning fireplace (bring your own wood!) and all the amenities. Three nights was certainly not enough!

Negative: Providing bedding for four but towels for 3 is a bit odd. Communication with the booking company is non-existent. Only thing missing from the well appointed kitchen is a proper frying pan & spatula. The cow landmark given was gone. Arriving at night was a challenge. The gate being closed (due to roaming sheep) with buoys on either side is a better landmark.

Summary: What an amazing place!!! Love, love, love!!

Positive: The house was very cute, quite big, and well-maintained. It was bigger than it looks in the pictures.

Negative: We should have known this, but it was quite far away from anything. If you are looking for a remote location, or if you are OK with driving 30 minutes each way to get to a main road, there is no problem. But in the end, we loved the quietness and the nature, but the commute for the other things we wanted to do was time-consuming. On the other hand, while the price was not cheap, it was less than other places closer to bigger roads.
