With a short walk to the white sands of Sisters Beach, Tarkine Gates offers a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy with family and friends. Stay in and relax with a good book, listening to whispering wind through the trees or get to the beach for swimming, fishing or surfing. Enjoy a BBQ at the property or down at the park while the children run around and enjoy the play equipment or take advantage of the skate park.
Sisters Beach is nestled in the Rocky Cape National Park and makes Tarkine Gates the ideal base for the avid bush walker with a number of walks in the area.
Tarkine Gates offers a modern and stylish well appointed, single level, 3 bedroom home which can accommodate six people and has a fully equipped kitchen with ample room for entertaining inside and out. Access to the home entrance from the flat parking area is via a four step external staircase.
Access to the property is via an asphalt driveway which has a steep, short, ascending section which can cause bike racks or similar to strike the asphalt, depending on the vehicle's clearance, at the beginning ascent.
If you run short on supplies the Sisters Beach General Store is only a short walk away and offers dine in or takeaway meals, bottle shop, as well as general items. For a full shop the center of Wynyard is a 15 minute drive away and near by Boat Harbour has a number of well reviewed restaurants for you to try.
Tarkine Gates is a great place to base yourself if you intend to explore the delights of North West Tasmania.

Summary: This was a very lovely house, comfortable, clean and well kept. The location amongst the trees is delightful. Very quiet and relaxing. Our only negative was the shower head - two of us found it quite painful (literally) to stand under. Everything else was wonderful.

Summary: We're a family with 6 person living in Holland. Father, mother and 4 kid's who are 24, 22, 21 and 20 years old. We've visited a brother who lives in Australia. A very nice stay also because of the stay in tarkine gates. Thanks a lot for the experience.

Summary: Really I'd prefer not to tell you how great this place is so it stays the gem it is. The house has everything, the kitchen is great (even a GF toaster+++) sunny deck, banksia paradise, views to sisters hills, access to walking, the "shop" (a cafe essentially but they have bread n milk). The stars are amazing and the ocean glitters. Please don't come here : )))

Summary: My family and I have been coming to this property for many years and thoroughly enjoyed our stay again! The property is a short walk to the beach and neat and tidy on the inside. Absolutely love the privacy and elevation of the house among the trees, you can barely see any other houses and we love this. When we had a small issue this was resolved quickly by the property manager which we appreciated. There is room for minor improvements on the outside: Suggestion to replace BBQ and outdoor picnic table on the deck would be much appreciated. We look forward to coming back in the future!

Summary: Tarkine Gates is a lovely home, beautifully appointed and situated at Sisters Beach. We would have loved to have stayed longer! The kitchen was well stocked, beds comfortable and great having laundry facilities. There was also thought into providing games for kids and body boards for surfing. This was a wonderful location for exploring the Tarkine and the Nut at Stanley.

Summary: House itself was beautiful. Difficult to find from roadside. Not very well signposted. Even the house number was a little way down the driveway and not easily visible. Need to see the house number from road as you can't see the house until you get to the end of the driveway. Otherwise a neat, clean property.
