Summary: Very friendly staff. Hotel is in the heart of downtown Nelson. Parking is limited and guests should know they have to take stairs to their rooms. There is a community fridge and coffee available in a common room. It's a pleasant hotel and I intend to stay there on my next visit.

Summary: Double dog fee because a friend walked their dog in my room. Should have been $25 and was charged $50 because a friend's $og Walken in my room. Also, there was incredibly loud karaoke until midnight. There were silverfish all over the room I'm have a picture of 3 seperate silverfish but the app won't allow me to upload.

Summary: The hotel was clean and fairly updated, however upon arrival it was very concerning to see elderly and physically disabled guests struggling up or down the stairs by the reception desk. It didn't seem that there was any other staff outside of the person at the front desk, possibly to help people with their bags. The hotel has no elevator. We stayed over a weekend, and were told at our check in that our room was in the wing above the bar connected to the hotel. Saturday nights were apparently karaoke night, and it would wrap up around 11pm. The trend of music tended towards hard rock/metal/rock, and this went on directly below our room until midnight, after which loud music continued playing in the bar until 1am. If you are told you are staying in the wing above the bar, and you're there over a Saturday night, I strongly recommend asking to be moved to a different area of the hotel. There was absolutely no way we could have slept before the music stopped, even with earplugs.

Summary: Hotel is well located and has a lively bar and nice restaurant. Receptionist was friendly, helpful and informative. Our main problem was due to minimal room service as bed was not made up during our 3 night stay and it appeared that only garbage was emptied daily. For $150 per night we expected more. Also noisy for rooms close to the communal kitchen and dining area, where people could be heard talking late at night.

Summary: Our room was right over the bar. We were not told this upon check in or via email ahead of time. Friday night the bar music was loud and kept us awake until midnight. Saturday was karaoke night and it sounded like we were in the bar. The bass made our beds vibrate. It was unbelievable and awful. Sleeping through it was impossible. The night desk clerk felt badly and gave us earplugs but the noise was well beyond that. The daytime staff did not have much sympathy but are probably used to the complaint. Otherwise, the hotel feels like a hostel and has a decent kitchen and deck. The room was clean other than the bathroom floor and grout. Rooms not over the bar probably have a very different experience, but I would never risk staying there again based on our experience.
