Positive: The barn was fairly small but had everything you could need. The bed was super comfy. Although being on a busy island and main road, it was surprisingly quiet. The owners were really lovely and communicative. I would definatley stay again!!
Negative: This is only a minor, personal thing but as I'm lactose intollerant, I asked for dairy free milk, but there wasn't any. Not a problem as there is a Tesco around the corner.

Positive: The property is small and cosy with a beautiful and simple design. The history to the property is great and it’s in a nice quiet area. The beds are comfortable and it’s easy to stay warm too. The shower pressure is great and the water is easily hot after waiting for a short amount of time. The kitchen is decked out and I love the cereal detail. Alan was also very friendly.
Negative: There was only one issue of stiff shower knobs but after contacting Alan it was promptly fixed and he’s very friendly. The bathroom does occasionally have a damp smell to it too.
Summary: Cosy, sweet and far too short!

Positive: I was travelling for work and this place was exactly what I needed to relax and to continue working after relatively long days. The place has some nice touches that make it feel quite homely. The Internet is really good and being able to use the main house facilities such as the washing machine is really useful. The host gives really clear info before the stay and lots of good info when you get there and is at hand if need be though leaves you to it unless required. 2nd time i have stayed here and will defo again There isn't a great deal to do in the immediate area, although the canal area is quite nice, it's in a great location to visit areas like Nottingham, Chesterfield, Sheffield etc which are all within a short train journey (train station is less than half a mile from the Barn.)
Negative: There are a few bits that could do with something of an update, especially in the bathroom, where the shower controls were not the greatest and the bathroom cabinet could do with replacing. I realise this is nit picking but it does detract a little from what is an overwhelmingly positive experience

Positive: The property was small but had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped with appliances and tea, coffee, milk and condiments. Good shops and pubs were withing walking distance. Good road networks are nearby.
Negative: Roads were noisy at night. Thee was a problem with the shower temperature, which the landlord tried to fix, but it was still a problem. The gate key was stiff and my husband was unable to master it.
Summary: Perfect bolt hole for visiting family, we will return and would recommend it.

Positive: The barn was easy to get to and had parking at the front for our hire car. Bit of a shuffle at times parking. We were happy that it was behind a locked gate and then you had a private courtyard. The place was very clean and had all the amenities needed. The bed was very comfy. The location was central to transport and shops. A bonus is we had snow which was lovely. Would definitely stay again.
