Summary: This lodging has no one on site, and check-in is all done by email. In the past this has been an issue for us when something goes wrong, because contacting help can be difficult, and addressing problems remotely is not always easy or even possible. However, in this case all went well. The pre-provided key combination worked well for our preassigned room, and we had no problems. The room itself was clean and modern. The hotel was right off the highway, which made being outside unpleasantly loud, but the room itself was reasonably soundproofed.

Summary: The bed was incredibly comfortable. The lake view room had a better view of the highway than the lake. The highway and the air conditioner were loud. The birches in the picture are only visible from the parking area. Very clean and comfortable.

Summary: Did not like the traffic noise in front of the hotel. In the back of the hotel, there was a lot of gun firing noise. We were a little worry about where the bullets were going to land. You did-not want to cross the road due to a lot of traffic.

Summary: Although communication is done all on line and via text, The Birchy group does a fabulous job communicating. I was in town for a baby shower and visiting family. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because of the ability to sit outside on my balcony with a Lake Superior view. Perhaps I missed something, but it looked like all rooms facing the water had a balcony. What I did not realize is while I had a water view, there was a second building that I was unaware of that had no type of balcony/patio. Was so disappointed.

Summary: Cute mostly updated motel across the street from Lake Superior on bike path. Bikes and sports equipment available for use. Very clean and nice area backs to woods.
