Summary: Disappointed with the superior double room. It was quite small. The decor was tired. The room(room 1) was very dusty particularly beind the bed and behind the bedside tables. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling light fitting. The carpet on the stairs leading upto the bedrooms was filthy. The pub itself was dark and dingy. The only good thing was the breakfasr which was excellent.

Summary: A convenient stop off on the way to Whitby. We chose the small double as we arrived late and were leaving straight after breakfast. It was fine for a short stay. Owners very friendly and although the room was above the pub it was very quiet after 10pm. Breakfast was very good.
