Positive: Just a great place! I don't even know what else to write. The villa was well-equipped, beautifully decorated, there was everything you needed - towels, deckchairs, a hammock, even a shower in front of the house so you could wash off the sand, and a barbecue. The location - brilliant, right next to the beautiful beach, which was probably one of the prettiest on the island. Quiet, pleasant, safe. I would definitely recommend renting a car because the buses don't run very often and there are no shops in the area. You absolutely must have your own car. I also recommend buying a product against sand flies, because they are very bloodthirsty and I had no idea that such a thing existed in the Caribbean. It's really worth spending your vacation here. This is a beautiful place!

Positive: San Matteo House has the best possible location in the heart of a historical center, just next to the most beautiful antique store in Lecce, perfect to discover Lecce and its surroundings. Parking was very easy to find. It’s very quite even though it’s a very central location. House is very nicely decorated, the owner is an architect and that you can tell as soon as you come into the apartment :) It’s perfect for a couple, family or even two couples as it has two separate rooms with bathrooms. After 3 days the cleaning lady came to change the sheets and clean, that was very nice gesture and much appreciated. We were very pleasantly surprised as we were welcomed with a package of water, bottle of local wine, milk, cheese, yogurts, coffe, tea, pasta..everything you can imagine, it’s a first time that we experienced such a welcome. We were welcomed by the owner Gabriele who is absolutely the best part of the whole experience. He was the best host you could ever imagine. We came with a baby and he immediately bought us a baby bed so we all feel comfortable. Everything that we needed he provided immediately. He gave us all the tips for the restaurants, coffe shops, experiences.. We don’t speak Italian so he helped us to call and arrange anything we needed. It’s a truly on of a kind experience and we can recommend it enough.

Positive: Spacious rooms with good AC, kitchen was stocked from when we arrived. The host was very nice and informative about the local area. Location is right in the center of Old town Lecce.
Negative: Only thing would have been to have AC in common areas but we were there during a heatwave, probably not needed in regular months
