The Cape Royale's Lightwell Cottage is a newly built one story, 4-bedroom 2.5 bath, sleeps 8. This is an "Earth Friendly Home" that will amaze you, approx. 2587sqft of indoor-outdoor livings space. This is a NO SMOKING property. Lots of upgrades in 2020 - flat panel TV's and HIGH-SPEED fiber optic WIFI internet 30/30. The best air filters, UV in air ducts kills mold mildew, bacteria, virus', better air quality then most homes!
This home has 2 spacious master suites, 18' x 16' and 17' x 15' with a built-in window seat. Just sit, read or look out and enjoy the tranquil setting of the Cape Royale. Sit on our covered southern plantation styled front porch and see the piney woods, lots of deer to see on this long interior lot, the house is set back from the street 160ft.
You will see the WOW with our grand 24' ceilings in the Livingroom/Dining room, it is a grand entrance with natural light from a 12 windowed light well above. The Kitchen is a gourmet chef's dream. GE quiet series II dishwasher and state of the art pull down microwave, Viking Professional series convection oven and our Viking Professional Series cooktop with rapid heat and childproof controls will make you want to cook every meal.
Local phone, dish network, a tv switcher to watch dvds, we have a few in our collection for our guests.
The Cape Royale is on the western shores of Lake Livingston within the Sam Houston National Forest in Texas hill country 72 miles from downtown Houston, 55 miles from IAH. We have the largest private full-service marina on lake Livingston, basketball court, amazing round subdivision pool, tennis courts, and club house. 24-hour manned security entrance leads to Cape Royale Resort. The home is in walking distance to Royale Greens Park offering outdoor activities for games, sports, fishing, swimming, and picnicking. We have outdoor tables, and much more. Coldspring is 3 miles away and offers shops, and restaurants. The Marina is within the Cape Royale with launch, supply store, gas, slip rentals and facilities. Call or email for availability. Summary: The location of this property is great, close to the lake, but not on it. Beautiful views of deer in the yard and neighborhood. There were a few things that we had to contact the owner about. One burner on the cooktop stove did not work; owner was aware, but was not communicated to us. My husband had to replace a filter, plastic seat covers at the dining table were all torn , the outside grill was weathered, rusted and pieces coming off of it. We were not told of any of these problems. We have stayed in this area in other rentals before, but this rental was not up to our expectations.

Summary: Beautiful, clean home that was just about a 1/4 mile walk from a park where we were able to go fishing. On two of the mornings, there were deer on the front lawn. We enjoyed walking through the wooded trails and walking through the marina. You could tell the owners took a lot of pride in their home. They communicated very well and made it a point to make sure we were going to enjoy our stay. We did!

Summary: This home is absolutely beautiful in a quiet neighborhood. We saw deer in morning when on porch with coffee. Pictures do not do this place justice but the rental process was quite lengthy and cumbersome.

Summary: We took a group of young teenagers and they had a blast. The park was perfect for swimming and volleyball. Marina was close to be able to launch the jet skis. Very quiet neighborhood. We also saw a family of deer several time. We are looking forward to staying again.

Summary: My husband and I stayed in the rental for Memorial Day weekend for a quick mini vacation with my two sons. Summary: We really enjoyed the lake house and the surroundings. We were a little disappointed that the water was way to rough to swim and the fishing spots were limited to the marina. The house was nice but furniture and TVs need to be updated.

Summary: The property is very well maintained, and the gift basket that welcomed us upon entering the home was stellar. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and we had a wonderful walk around the neighborhood and lake shore. I would definitely rent this place again!

Summary: Perhaps someone could eliminate the ants that were all around the base of the house. They really were very aggressive, especially toward anything outside. Dogs bones are an example. Thank you for a place to retreat. Blessings:/Molly
