Positive: The Centara Collection, Machchafushi Island Resort & Spa in the Maldives offers a fantastic location with an outstanding beach and plenty of fish to admire. The beach villa was super comfortable, providing a great base to relax. The main restaurant, The Reef, was exceptional, always offering a delicious buffet with a lot of variety. The resort is very beautiful, well-maintained, and has friendly staff. One of the best parts is that there are no mosquitoes, thanks to their daily fumigation at 5 pm, which is a huge bonus.
Negative: The secondary restaurants (Thai and Italian) didn’t quite live up to expectations. The spa was a bit expensive, and in general, anything outside of the full board options, including souvenirs, was priced steeply. The resort is also only accessible by seaplane, which adds to the costs
Summary: Beautiful and relaxing stay in paradise, with excellent food, stunning views, and friendly service.

Positive: The room and our room attendant were brilliant. Most of the staff were lovely. There was a lack of flexibility in some areas and with some staff especially providing for English guests. The club area was very disorganised and not worth paying for.

Positive: Beautiful Island with lovely facilities and rooms. The staff were all great - in particular Logo really looked after us on our boat ride and Ishak and Sunny were great in Mare restaurant. Mitchel and the team in the club lounge were also lovely. The snorkelling from our Sunset Water Villa was the highlight for us - turtles, rays, sharks and an aquarium of fish. Beautiful!!
Negative: Security around the water sports lagoon were really annoying blowing whistles all the time and forcing guests to wear life jackets. Seems silly in that environment - if you’re a proficient swimmer this should be optional. Activities for “tweens” were limited. Checkout was too early before our seaplane departed. Left my sunglasses in room on departure and despite giving exact location the resort was unable to locate them so I have to replace them…. My fault, but they can’t have disappeared!!! Finally, the resort is still fish-feeding which we really didn’t like and witnessed guests copying the activity despite staff telling them to stop. The resort must start leading by example on this and they assured me they would address this and phase out the practice.
Summary: The perfect resort….. Almost. Will definitely return and would recommend
