The Crib is tucked away in the historic coastal Norfolk village of Happisburgh. Walking to the nearby dog friendly beach is easy from the door and you walk to the village pub, shop, historic church and the iconic red and white striped lighthouse. Throughout the house the owners have indulged their true love of dogs and there are many beautiful examples of dog art and tasteful decorations, making the house feel really homely.

Large room with window onto street and working Victorian tiled fireplace with plenty of space – sofas, tv, dvd player. Selection of dvds and books, games and magazines. Wooden floor throughout and lots of lovely doggy art!

Fully fitted painted pine kitchen with plenty of worktop and cupboard space. American style fridge/freezer, built in eye level oven and four ring gas hob, dishwasher and washing machine. Table with enough seating for 5. Slow cooker (both large and small), Nespresso machine. A selection of herbs and spice too. French doors open into the garden

Wooden and wide and leading to upstairs landing with antique linen cupboard and towel shelves.
Bedroom 1
Wood framed and charming double bed, pine bedroom furniture and some lovely features.
Bedroom 2
Single bed in a room with a cast iron feature fireplace with tiles and decorative surround. Fitted storage cupboard and a pine chest of drawers with some lovely arty features.
Bedroom 3
Superking bed, wooden framed, brand new mattress and bed linen, large freestanding wardrobe, chair and bedside cupboards. Cast iron feature fireplace with tiles and decorative surround.
Bathroom
Fully tiled with a bath with fitted shower over it and screen, toilet and sink with storage space.
ALL ABOUT THE OUTSIDE:
Parking
Is just past the next door property (Orchard Cottage). Drive up the gravelled drive, past Orchard Cottage parking and you will see the parking at the end of The Crib’s garden with access via the back garden gate.
Back Garden
This is fully enclosed with high, solid fencing (5-6ft with planting one or both sides) and plenty of grass. No gaps for small dogs to get through! Approx 165ft long. Tap and hose outside for washing dogs.
Front garden
Access from the front door into the small, enclosed streetside front garden. Easy access to the high street and Beach Road. You can park on the road outside here if needed.

Summary: Great week at the Crib. The property is very well equipped with everything you can think of for both humans and our four legged friend. Fabulous welcome pack waiting for us when we arrived. The (large) garden is very secure and our dog enjoyed having a good sniff around. The location of the property is ideal - opposite the road leading to the beach so within a couple of minutes of leaving the property you can be on the beach. Plenty of things to do in the area. Hope to return again soon as one week was definitely not long enough!

Summary: After a very foggy journey we arrived to a very warm and welcoming cottage, lovely big comfortable rooms the owners have thought of everything to make us and our dogs feel welcome. The enclosed garden is wonderful and the dogs had great fun. Added to all the above the beach is less than a 5min walk and the pub 10mins.

Summary: Perfect in every way for humans and dogs. Warm and comfortable with a lovely log fire. Spotlessly clean. Excellent position for a 5 minute walk to miles of dog friendly beach. Great garden. We parked up and walked to cafes (all open in January which was a bonus), pubs, and a good shop in Walcott. A very good welcome pack provided. Everything supplied for the dogs which made travelling easier. Best cottage we’ve ever stayed in for a dog friendly holiday. We can’t wait to return.

Summary: We had a lovely break in the Crib over New Year and just the place for R&R post Christmas. It was warm and well equipped especially for the dogs . We bought our own dog beds but they much prefered the Orvis beds provided ! Excellent welcome goodies, very much appreciated. Position was very convenient for the beach and the pub which served basic but adequate pub food. Large garden completely secure and dogs found a number of intriguing scents . The particularly enjoyed the outside hose with warm water !!!

Summary: This was a return visit to The Crib and was just as good as we remembered it. There were lovely walks straight from the cottage either to the beach, along the cliff top paths or local footpaths. We had everything we needed in the property and more. The welcome pack was exceptional and delicious! Such a comfortable, cosy cottage with an open fire (and a huge basket of logs, kindling etc). The garden was safe and secure and I never worried about letting our dogs out there as I knew they couldn’t escape. We had a wonderful time and will definitely book again in the future.

Summary: Perfect cottage with a fab big garden that our 6 dogs absolutely loved . Plenty of off road parking , the beach is just a few minutes walk away so we didn’t move the car until our return home. We will definitely be back , we really appreciated the welcome goodies for us and our dogs . Lots of feeding bowls and dog beds a real home from home for us all.

Summary: We had a wonderful week staying at The Crib. The 3 spaniels really enjoyed exploring the fabulous garden and with the beach only a 5 minute walk away loved swimming and running on the beach. The humans enjoyed their down time too!

Summary: Right from our initial enquiry, ERC couldn't have been more helpful. They allowed us to book 6 nights instead of 7, which fitted in with our plans. Having booked with ERC before, we took advantage of the repeat booking discount, and looked forward to our much needed holiday. We had our 11 month old crawling Grandson with us, as well as an active Border Collie and a reactive Jack Russell, so we knew we'd have our hands full. When we arrived (having received some excellent digital guides from ERC about the cottage and area), we were taken aback with the property. An amazing welcome pack with so many items we hadn't expected, both for humans and the dogs! The cottage was warm and welcoming after a long journey, and spotlessly clean. With a crawling baby, our expectations were realistic regarding dogs hairs in hard to reach corners, but it was spotless, even the multiple dog beds had no hairs! That leads me onto the 'dog' equipment and facilities - there was nothing that the owners hadn't thought of: towels, throws, excellent dog beds, a variety of bowls, leads, harnesses and jumpers, even some dog shampoo and an outside hot and cold hosepipe! The kitchen was a great size, and so was the garden (fully enclosed). It wasn't a long walk to the beach and the famous lighthouse, and also close to the local pub which was friendly and welcoming. The open fire was a nice treat after spending time exploring the area. The only downside for us is the distance from home, which rules out weekend stays or anything less than 6/7 nights. But other than that, we would 100% recommend this property - it's actually nicer and bigger than it shows on the website, the pictures don't do it justice. Thank you.

Summary: The cottage is a wonderful home from home. Everything is thought of for dogs and humans. The garden is large and very secure. The cottage is well equipped and the kitchen is fantastic, with everything you could possibly need. It is in a perfect position in the village with a 5 minute walk to the beach or the pub. Highly recommended.

Summary: We had a lovely stay in the Crib. The house and garden was a good size for 4 adults and 2 dogs with private parking. The property is very well maintained and the dogs very well catered for. (Watch out for the rabbits in the garden though!) We (humans and dogs) were left a welcome pack which was very gratefully received. Plenty of local info/maps available. Very quiet village away from touristy areas,but exactly what we wanted!
