Positive: Beautiful quiet location, service was excellent, food and atmosphere in the pub was also excellent. Dog friendly a really bonus!!

Negative: Personally the thought the accommodation was a little over priced. We paid £217 pn and compared to other places weve stayed, we thought this was higher than maybe it should have been. There was no coffee maker, only 2 coat hangers, the sink was slow to drain, the shower was also not very powerful, the shelf was rusty, and on the first morning there was no hot water, until we asked about it at breakfast. The terrace in front of our Willows room was weedy and lacked TLC. All these are small things and didn’t really affect our stay. The room was beautifully decorated but given everything I thought it was overpriced.

Positive: Ambiance good, breakfast excellent, Evening meal good , but, perhaps not enough attention to food for the elderly. At our age we do not require massive quantities and traditional grub is adequate in small portions.

Negative: Poor water pressure for the shower. A summer weight duvet would have been appreciated. We cooked under the standard one. When we took the cover off to sleep under just that, we found the duvet itself not very clean !

Summary: Pleasant and may be worth using the Chestnut Group again at another destination.
