Positive: Loved staying here, the grounds were beautiful, the staff was lovely and the room was awesome. You are literally staying in a piece of Vicksburg's history. Close to the downtown places of interest, walking distance to some. Do yourself a favor and take the 30 minute tour of the mansion, you will not regret it

Negative: Pool was COLD but it's April...so that's to be expected

Positive: We enjoyed stay there. The privilege to stay at a genuine Antebellum mansion was incredible.

Negative: The mansion is not in a good part of town. I read all these reviews saying its in a great part town though. Either nobody took a drive around or they had their eyes closed.

Positive: It is beautifully decorated. The staff is friendly & accommodating. Our stay included a tour & history of the house. It is within walking distance of the riverfront

Negative: A 3 course breakfast was included. Everything served was good except the waffles were not edible. They had an extremely bitter taste.

Summary: We enjoyed our 2 night stay in this beautiful house

Positive: Antebellum house, nice decoration in rooms and hallways, free parking. Close to city center. Breakfast is together with all the guests,, 3 courses.

Negative: Rooms worn down, house and rooms need renovation. Lamps not working, plastic tiles from bathroom ceiling falling down, noisy /dirty old airco, loose stone at fireplace. Not very clean (eg.dirty mugs in guest kitchen upon arrival, not very appealing). Staff member who did check-in gave hardly any information. Fixed breakfast time + menu. Breakfast basic, but not at a level that you expect in this setting. Breakfast like B&b: together with other guests. Loose parts at pool, no pool towels. Overall: very nice setting, the house got a lot of potential, but a lot of work to make it a real 'antebellum-chique' experience.
