Positive: The Fern was perfect for our annual trip to a festival at Newark Showground, it’s a lovely property ideal for a group of up to 6 to stay close to events locally. The hosts are very welcoming and provided us with all the information we needed prior to our visit and also checked in with us during our stay. Already booked again for next year. Many thanks

Positive: April 2025- Beautiful place, very clean and everything you need for your stay. Lovely touches like Easter card to us and themed ornaments. Very comfy beds, which makes a whole lot of difference when away. Had a treasure box as my son called it but had to crack the codes which my son absolutely loved & managed first two locks on his own but the last one was tricky as it was chess related and we don't know anything about chess so Nigel (owner)helped us out with few clues but we still couldn't do it 🤣 in the end we was given the code but then played deal or no deal with our 12 year old he chose to have the code to access the box and there was an Easter egg in there! very nice touch. We have some how misplaced an extendable magnet stick that goes with one of the clues for the treasure box. It has to be somewhere! So if anyone finds it let Nigel know. I would love to know where it turns up, we do feel bad though! Property Safe for children and dogs as it's enclosed. Hot tub was lush! Had bit trouble cutting out but we sussed it out in the end. Nigel happy to help with anything the owners live next door so literally on hand to sort anything out if you need 😊Ideal location for us as we was visiting family and we have a new grandson, our daughter lives 10 minutes away and other family members 20 minutes away so perfect for us. Would highly recommend, we would definitely come back 😀 if they will have us! 🙈 Liz & Lee 🐰

Positive: Very clean. High quality furnishings. Very comfortable and private. Hot tub is a nice extra. Lots of utensils / home from home.
Negative: Toilet upstairs would have been nice but understand there’s no little room for that and the bedroom is a very generous size.
Summary: You get what you pay for. A very high standard property in a nice location with fantastic hosts.

Positive: So homely and warm. Lovely Christmas finishing touches. Also lovely welcome hamper left for us. Loved the enclosed garden and the field to walk round with the dog on lead. Near my sons so location great for us.
Negative: No hanging rails for clothes that could take dress or trousers. We didn't get to stay our extra night as we had a family emergency to deal with. We had to leave in a hurry. I am hoping if we book again Nigel would reflect this in our price for stay. We were upset we didn't get to stay on. 😔

Positive: The Fern is perfectly situated close to major road links for exploring the area, a very roomy accommodation kitted out with everything you might need for your stay, there were five in our party so it was perfect for our stay as we attended a festival which was local to the property, very nicely decorated throughout, a total home from home. The owners were very attentive and provided us with lots of tips for our trip allowing us to pre plan a lot beforehand. Many thanks and see you again next year, we might manage to park in the correct area next time too!
