Stunningly beautiful 6 BR, 4.5 bath home includes 3 main level master suites and beds for 16 people. Breathtaking views of the lake and sunsets await you from this 4000 square foot home built and furnished for refined yet relaxed living. The spacious and private main master suite has a vaulted ceiling, sitting area and views of the lake while the other two master suites are also very spacious and finely furnished. Two additional spacious bedrooms on the lower level with queen/king beds and a shared bath provide relaxed privacy for four more people. A third level gabled bedroom provides privacy and a perfect hideaway with twin and full beds for six more guests. Linens are provided.
The large open space living/kitchen/dining area ensures you won't miss any of the action and provides perfect views of the large level lawn area, lake and boat dock. The kitchen comes wonderfully appointed with everything you need including dishwasher, full size refrigerator (and another in the basement), five burner gas stove, and microwave. A walk-in pantry provides access to all the things you might find in your own kitchen as well as plenty of space to store all your snacks and dry goods for the week.
A wood walkway takes you to an idyllic lake location where you can spend all day on and in the water. Enjoy 300 feet of private shoreline with some of the clearest water in Lake Anna, where you can enjoy the white sand beach and natural sand shoreline, new hardscaping, fire pit, and pergola. The beach with its gentle slope into the water is perfect for the little tykes, and for the older swimmers, they can jump into the 8' deep water off the end of the dock or paddle around in the two tandem kayaks. Summary: I really hate to give this home a five star, excellent review, because I feel like we will have trouble getting it once everyone finds out!! Nonetheless, in fairness to the owners, I simply have to share. This was the perfect home for our extended family to enjoy a vacation together. We loved the layout of the house (perfect), the VERY comfortable beds (always important), the perfect sandy beach for the little ones, the well-equipped kitchen, the variety of games and toys, the many seating areas (probably 5 or 6 different places to peacefully go and sit, read, or enjoy the company of one or two others), and the nice lake water. I will have to say it was very hot the week we were there. . . but we adjusted. The morning is the best time to enjoy the lake before the sun hits the little beach. Also, this "cove" is SO QUIET! Yay! It is all a "no wake" zone back here, so no craziness going on on the lake. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, The Gables is PERFECT. We booked for next year already. There were 6 adults and 4 children. Next year we hope to have 8 adults and 5 children. Superb!

Summary: We had a fantastic week at The Gables! The home, location and owners couldn't be more perfec. The house fit 15 of us very comfortably ranging in ages from 70 to 1. The beach area, water temp, yard etc. gave all ages (even the little ones) easy access to games, water and pure fun! Every age group enjoyed relaxing in the water and on the kayaks. Don and Bitsy are wonderful, warm caring people and you can feel this in every aspect of the home - inside and out!! The 15 of us vacation every year together and this was hands done the best experience for all of us! Thank you Don and Bitsy for creating such a wonderful space.

Summary: We have rented vacation homes for years and we decided this is one of the best if not the best. The location is quiet but close enough to things you need and of course the wineries! The house was very clean and extremely well stocked. We spent alot of time swimming and the lake water is clean and was very warm. The boat house was the perfect place to have coffee, spend afternoons and sipping our wine at night. There is not one negative about this house and we slipped into a state of depression when we had to leave. The owners have been extremely helpful and kind. We highly recommend this house except on the week we want to rent it!! Thanks Donald and Bitsy!

Summary: What a tremendous vacation rental. We stayed here with six adults and nine children (4 boys and 5 girls). The children range in ages from 2-14. The home is very much that, a home. Clearly, the owner's spend time at the property and the comforts you are looking for are all here. The bedrooms fit us perfectly; the girls shared the two bedrooms in the walkout basement and the boys shared the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen and the massive pantry are perfect for entertaining our large group. Our three families have rented vacation homes together four times in the last two years and we always seem to run short on utensils, flatware, cups, mugs, ice and storage space for food. Don and Bitsy's place has all of this ready for you in spades. Our group will certainly outpace the best ice machine but the property has extra ice trays to make up the difference. This is indicative of the care and planning they have for the home so that you will make lifetime memories there. There are ample plates, silverware, food storage containers, mixing bowls, seating, cups/glasses/mugs. The shape of the kitchen made it easy to cook, serve and clean at the same time. We spent a lot of time on the porch, both the front porch with morning coffee, the back porch ALL DAY. Even during a rainstorm, the adults hung out under the covered half. The kids spent an immeasurable time off devices and outside on the dock/boathouse fishing and using our paddle boards as well as the provided double kayaks. The beach patio with pergola and fire pit is tremendous and there is even a little sandy beach area that the kids used all weekend. They also wore out the ample backyard playing bag toss and kickball. We also spent a half a day at the Lake Anna State Park hiking, it is only 20 minutes away. We had a great time and recommend the property to any family

Summary: We had a fabulous week at this amazing property! The photos don't really tell the whole story. It's obvious Don & Bitsy have put a great deal of thought and TLC into this house to make it a home. Plenty of room for our family of 6 adults and 4 grandbabies under age 5 to spread out and be extremely comfortable. There's a spacious well-planned kitchen and pantry with a huge table for family meals, lots of fun dishes, placemats and silverware along with a great assortment of pots, pans and anything you could need to cook or bake--even a crockpot! The open kitchen/family room was a wonderful gathering place as well as the partly covered deck with ample seating. The bedrooms were large with quality furnishings & linens. Plenty of towels and laundry available. The pool table, foosball, wide screen tv and Nintendo were enjoyable although we spent most of our time outdoors. The water setting was ideal. The boathouse included plenty of noodles, life jackets and outside games to enjoy on the large grassy yard. We used the kayaks several times and rented a pontoon boat as well. The cove is a quiet, no wake zone perfect for swimming, floating and jumping off the dock. The new pergola, fire pit and sandy beach complete the area and were a big hit! Even the neighborhood is quiet with paved roads which were perfect for walking with strollers and letting the little ones ride their scooters. Our only disappointment was that next summer is booked. We loved it all and can't wait to come back in 2018! Thank you Don & Bitsy for sharing your lovely home and giving us the opportunity to create such wonderful family memories. Summary: When the 15 of us arrived, my husband and I with our 3 daughters, husbands and children, were thrilled when we entered your beautiful home. The bedrooms were spacious and the Gable Room was great for our 5 boys. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes, cookware, and utensils. The pantry was well stocked with larger cooking appliances and space for us to store our food. The basement family room was great for all of us with the pool table, foosball, and large screen TV. The outside fire pit was used several nights for s'mores and just to relax during our day and evening swimming. The beach was great for our two great grandsons (1 1/2 year old) to play and run into the water. The stationery dock was easy for young and old to walk on and jump in the water. Partial covered dock was used for fishing and made it able to get out of the sun. The dock house was full of lawn and water items for our use. The kayaks and life jackets were used many days. We all would recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing home away from their own home. The owners, Don and Bitsy were wonderful to work with and Bitsy has several of her paintings in the house. Sunset Properties, Laura and Rachel were very kind and quick to respond to any of our questions. All ages will enjoy a stay at this home for a wonderful vacation.

Summary: We brought 16 of us to the Gables for our family vacation and as soon as we opened the front door, the beauty of the owner's spacious home and the view of the lake immediately melted our stress away! The kitchen and walk-in pantry were appointed with everything we needed to make and serve meals, which we could do while the rest of the family gathered in the open living and dining area. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable and our older kids loved having their own space in the upper gabled bedroom or hanging out downstairs in the game room to play pool or video games. The walk down the wooden path from the house to the lake was easy for all age groups and the sandy beach and gentle slope into the water was perfect for little ones. The beautiful pergola area with the great fire pit was our gathering place each day while the kids swam, fished off the dock, and went kayaking. All of us had a great time and we hated to leave! The owners are wonderful to work with and went out of their way to make sure that their home was in perfect condition especially after a storm hit the area and knocked down some trees onto their property. This rental property is beautiful inside and out and you can feel the pride and care the owners have for their home in every nook and cranny!

Summary: We highly recommend The Gables. We celebrated a birthday party at The Gables last weekend and everyone was very impressed with how beautiful and well-maintained the house and property was. The online pictures don't do it justice. The owners and property management company were a real pleasure to work with. Very responsive and flexible. I would rent from them again in a heartbeat. You can't go wrong with this property.
