Summary: First time in Dunnellon and we loved the town. Great southern country vibe. We were here to kayak the Rainbow River which I highly recommend. This was a great place to stay and I would do it again. I was looking for a sign that said Gator Den Motel but there is none. I drove past the Blue Gator and had to go back because that’s the place. Not sure why the name discrepancy. It’s on the main highway through town and right beside the Withlacoochee River. The room was very nice and clean and the bed was very good. Just a walk across the parking lot gets you to the restaurant/bar with mostly if not only outdoor seating. It’s a great country vibe with a great selection of food and beer. I enjoyed the two meals I had there very much. I arrived around 8pm on Sunday evening. Earlier in the afternoon I received a call letting me know they were expecting me and I needed to go to the restaurant to get the manager to check me in. That was a great bit of info that kept me from wondering what to do. It all went smoothly and with a friendly welcome. It’s a small motel with rooms facing the parking lot and a highway right beside it but none of that disturbed me at all. It was a great place to stay.

Summary: Nice and clean. Friendly staff. Bed was a little hard but I perfect a really soft bed. Restaurant had excellent food. I would stay again.

Summary: Decent stay for one night. Rooms recently remodeled and clean. Hopefully they can keep it clean! Had booked because of onsite restaurant but it was closed on Wednesday. The upside is that it was a quiet.
