Positive: It’s a lovely building in the perfect location in Rye.
Negative: The room we were upgraded to was at the very back of the hotel on what seemed a bit like a converted shed. It was very dark and, although the bed was really comfortable, I wasn’t so keen on the room itself.
Summary: Beautiful building and good services, but some rooms are better than others.

Positive: We had a superior double room which was lovely. Bed was very comfortable. I had asked for a light, quiet, airy room with a walk-in shower in the bathroom and it was just that. The chap on reception was extremely friendly and helpful.
Negative: Breakfast was fine but a bit of a scrum. Only one coffee machine so long queues for it, exacerbated by the fact that the mugs are kept on 2 shelves to help yourself to, one of which was too high for even the serving staff to reach! The impression was that there were not enough staff.
Summary: Very pleasant stay in a historic part of the town. Would certainly come again.
