Summary: I don't know what the website says about The George Inn, but I wasn't prepared for the number of steps to my room, 33 in total I think.OK for younger man but I'm in my mid eighties; a word of warning wouldn't go amiss. The room was clean and comfortable, the TV didn't work properly though and the plumbing was noisy. The staff were polite and helpful.

Summary: Building is a bit run down but bedroom and bed was very comfortable indeed. Staff friendly, great breakfast too. Central location adjacent to Selby Abbey.

Summary: Our stay at the George was lovely. The rooms are a little dated but the comfort was fab, the staff were extremely helpful and kind, breakfast lovely and location great. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Summary: Friendly staff dog friendly can have your dog in the dinning room with you etc Didn’t hear a great deal of noise from downstairs in the pub once we we in our room But Saturday night the noise in the bar was was to much especially when you were trying to eat in dining room and talk with friends. Had to go out and sit in the beer garden to get away from the noise. Good location for what we wanted Easy to check in and out etc Nice size room

Summary: We stayed as a family of 4. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. There is free parking on site, just confirm your registration at reception. We had a great breakfast that was included in the price. We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely consider returning if we are in the area.

Summary: The George is an old property, and it feels like it needs an injection of TLC, it has wallpaper coming off in areas. The rooms are tired and dated. However, the staff are really friendly and helpful, the town of Selby has lost its charm. The Abbey is spectacular and the concert there was brilliant.
